Well, even if they're funneling, I don't think anyone has proof or that they're doing it in a way that anyone can catch on right now so I don't expect anyone else to want to rock the boat regarding dom funds. I think it's mutually beneficial for dom funds info to be public though. A dom team running things in good faith wouldn't have anything to hide and would be less likely to run into confrontation from the more cynical bunch while the public would know when and what the funds are used for. An official flight bank feature would be great for that actually (cannot be bothered running into the suggestions pvp zone for that lmao just throwing it out there).

I wonder why Arcanites have to ask to see the Dom Bank. Shouldn't it be public, just to make audits easier? I know I'd want to see how my donations are being used.
it is a little weird, but i doubt anyone will raise the question of changing it. change seems inordinately difficult in this flight and there’s far more glaring issues with the rest of the structure that this sorta feels like small fries in comparison (weary)

da another arcanite here! the reason it's not public (the last i checked, which is at least a year or so ago) is because we had some big issues with people leaking our in flight bank info out of flight. that has happened unfortunately more than once. and the dom team decided that it would be better to just prevent future leakers. i don't blame them tbh, it sucked to both see people leaking our bank info on salt mine and other places and it sucked to find out that there were people whose first inclination would be to blab about their flight's money out of flight. but on the other hand, it also sucks that we have to do that because then we get shit on for not being transparent. lose-lose i guess =/

as to the latter it's more that there's a lack of experience and lack of long term commitment in flight, so anyone who could/would step up, usually drops out/leaves fairly soon. we've got a lot of enthusiasm, but not enough follow through. and in terms of the dom leads..... *sigh* all i know is that they seem to be constantly and consistently slammed with irl stuff. whether or not that's true i don't know, but that's what they tell us. personally i would really, really REALLY rather they just flat out admit they can't handle it anymore, rather than be consistently late with shit and what not but i also realized long ago that that's never gonna happen. *sighs again* i super miss our old dom lead and team, but i do fully understand why they had to leave (massive burnout from giving 10000% of their time and energy to arcane dom)

i have to agree, i'm also sort of resigned to things continuing this way because... how do i say this kindly? going on such a long time of it being like this, it doesn't look likely that anyone on the team is going to say anything like "i'm too busy, i've been too busy for far too long". how long has it been like this now? years? at what point does it become big enough of a problem? i don't know what internal talks are like, obviously, but is it ever considered in those? when do you put feelers out for assistance? last time i checked, they were opening applications to the team over a year ago, in the dom guide post, but it's not been edited so i can only assume that it's joined the number of things left to sit in limbo. like, do people even know about it?

recent smr post actually made me think: we know that dominance is shitfucked in regards to how exalts from different flights are weighted, but exactly how shitfucked is it.

The thing is, arcane is profit pushing with plague having a PB and they allow dragons sent OOF to be recorded for profit pushes. The only profit push which they don't allow that is during a 'placing profit'. It's quite normal for arcane to scrape a 3rd place max if there's an OOF PB/raffle going actually.

part of it is also that getting Noc eggs during NotN has become much more accessible to a variety of players, since now you don't necessarily have to grind coli, but can do other activities like bonding familiars to get strange chests/materials. because of that, there is a much bigger egg supply which keeps prices low.
the discussion about the trust- based dom bank donations has me thinking about a question again that I've had for a long while:
how do dom organizers make sure that people aren't lying about the numbers/levels that they are exalting in order to get a better chance at the raffle? in both flights I've been in, you just had to fill out a spreadsheet/google form and that's it, no proof needed ?!

Is such a lazy gene and looks kinda bad, it makes Smirch look amazing-- it's almost like, a dragon was blowing up a massive bubble gum bubble and it popped on their face.
As someone who started in Fire flight (but has moved since) having a fire related gene was always something I thought would look cool and vibe so well, since they did a light festival gene relating to the light flight. Here's hoping they make a cool fiery one for my home flight.

Carnivore on the other hand is also not amazing either, but I do like how more subtle it looks and has saved a few of my dragons with awkward tert colours, it's also very inexpensive.

Ngl one of my sentimental hatches was saved by Firebreather precisely because of the bubblegum look. Bubblegum Firebreather my beloved <3
I did have one or two other projects look good with Firebreather though, neither being bubblegum themed. I do agree with Carnivore, but also carry that sentiment over to Firebreather. They both have their uses, they're just tough to use, but they really shine with the right color combos.

Beastclans apparently scales with the exalts of the flight in first place (I could be wrong on that, though), and like other nonny said, are you guys recording levels sent to Plague as well?
im honestly not sure how i feel about this explanation. ive seen bank info leaked on drama sites or discord/tumblr/etc for most of the flights at some point or another. obviously it sucks when that happens but given how large all of the flights are you kind of need to assume that no matter how locked down everything is, people will talk about internal stuff. keeping things incredibly locked down ends up looking like a transparency issue rather than a tactical decision. its better to be organized and semi-public than private with no proof of organization or planning.
NAYRT totally agree. ultimately anyone can "spy" on dom stuff by just making another account lol. the trust of a flight's members is more important than keeping what they have in the bank secret. also how would anyone act on that information anyway and why would it matter, except maaaaybe if you were prepping for a battle but even then i don't see it mattering.
