Yeah, I am pretty sure that this is how they are, and that it is pretty much the second of my two theories (that they are just that out of touch with reality)
and yeah, I completely understand that. I read a story on reddit about a person who told their girlfriend they absolutely will not share food at all. They have to have completely separate spices, separate dishes, separate bedrooms, his girlfriend is absolutely not allowed to touch his food, he will not cook for her, even said if they had kids together, and she got sick and couldn't cook for the kids, he would buy them takeout rather than cook for them.
She wanted to try some of his food, and when he wasn't around, decided to get some. He saw her and threw away the entire container of leftovers. (and as far as I remember, the GF was only going to scoop some out with a fork, not even a large portion, or stick her fingers in it)
PE's drama reminds me of that. the redditor's excuse was 'I told her this is how it would be before we got together, and I know I have an issue, but it isn't a big deal, because I tell people before hand' so he isn't going to get any therapy. PE at least sounds like they ARE trying therapy, but still don't want to take any responsibility for their actions because everyone else should have known that they weren't well and treated them accordingly.
