I flip fodder g1s I find on AH and the pastels sell ok. I rarely exalt, and usually I just lower the price until they go... though sometimes that's because the fodder floor price goes up.
I also get attached to some of them, so I list those at really high prices until I decide I actually want to keep them or loose interest and lower the price. I've had one or two actually sell unexpectedly while listed at the high price.
