Maybe I'm getting old but I don't understand why people stay on a site they dislike so much. If you really don't like the site and how it's run, I think the best idea would be to leave just for your own sanity/wellness. There are so many other video games/pet sites/hobbies in the world. There have even been times when I stopped playing FR. (Not because I had any particular issues with the site, but because I didn't feel like it was worth my time)
I'm not saying this because I care about the admin's feelings. I know at the the end of the day they're only motivated by $$$ and aren't hurt over complaints. I think it's just good common sense for life to not spend time on things that upset you.
I also think it's fine to voice complaints, but empirically most of the time player complaints rarely lead to substantial changes. A lot of the times it's because the players who spend the most money in online games aren't the same ones who are vocal in the community.
Or, for that matter, to want to give constructive criticism. I don't have a lot of free time to hang out in suggestions these days, but I have in the past - if I didn't think the site as a whole was great, I wouldn't put so much effort into hypothesizing UI tweaks.
Yep, true. Even the simple-to-implement guaranteed-to-be-uncontroversially-well-received ones. I wouldn't throw a tantrum about it, but it does get a little discouraging to advocate for something of that nature for literal years and know the staff probably never saw it. Another reason I'm less motivated to spend time doing it. (The alternative was making it my life's work to learn coding and get myself a job on the team just to fix all that tiny little detail-oriented stuff.)
