i name my plants, cars, tech, pokemon, etc. because of my relationship with identity and my belief system
Same. I have similar issues- medical, near death during birth, etc, and names are important to me.
If I use it daily, or it has a huge place in my life, it gets a name. Computer, phone, and car are the big ones.
ESPECIALLY my car. He's not alive, he's not sentient, but as someone who lives in the US in a rural area, a car is a NECESSITY of basic living, so the car is a VERY important part of my life, and therefore is very important to me. Gotta take care of the car, maintain him, keep gas in him, insure him, etc.
Also, when you're so dependent on a car, you have to pay attention to them- you learn to feel, hear and even smell subtle differences that can be cues to something going wrong. You learn to READ your car, you're in tune with them. For me, it feels weird NOT to end up imposing a "personality" and "temper" with a car, and give them a name.
BUT.
That's completely different from pixel dragons, and I am not gonna shame people for not slapping a name on pixels.
It's okay to be weird, have quirks and beliefs, but there are PRIORITIES to them, and pushing them on others is just... why. No.
