I'm probably in the minority here, but the 'here's a bunch of ancient-parallel scrolls for existing modern genes!' announcement in January didn't strike me as boring at all. I think that's exactly the direction they should be going in - adapting genes slowly but steadily, even if it's at the expense of time spent on entirely new genes (and let's be real, there are only so many unexplored totally unique gene concepts out there). Add to that maybe new genes going forward are all launched with compatibility for all ancients - because presumably the easiest time to 'adapt' any gene to ancients is when everybody's already fitting that gene to a ton of modern poses anyway - and eventually they'll catch up. (And again, this should be done by spacing out new gene releases further apart if need be, not by driving the artists into crunch.)
