I don't know how to put this but people looking at Velya, going "her face is masculine! she's trans!!" and then comparing male and female poses and features to her makes me hyper uncomfortable
doesn't have to reflect their views of irl people after all, but ...

Most people doing this are trans themselves and excited to point out more representation, if it's any comfort. I understand, though. Sometimes it can feel really weird for people to nitpick little differences to clock a character as trans. I personally think it's just an artistic choice, but I thought the same about fiona so who knows.

ayrt, true about the "trans people are mostly doing that"
at the end it's just headcanons unless staff confirms it truly like with good ol Fiona, but people specifically looking at every little detail to clock someone as trans is so weird to me. i like the idea that older nocturnes in general just get blockier faces due to scale movement. or maybe earth nocturne are more likely to look like that. more "these features aren't strictly sexual dimorphism, everyone has a chance to inherit anything" instead of "Male Chin?? Is Trans Now"

god forbid dragons have slight differences amongst each other or the artist tries to show the character a bit off more with the new art

not everything is about sexual dimorphism, humans and animals IRL are also not copy pasted from one template

i think its disgusting trans individuals keep pointing out minor flaws or aesthetic choices in characters and assigning a gender

what if we did it to them? they wouldn't like it very much

Is this sarcasm...?

I agree. It makes me uncomfortable. Maybe it's just because I have had total strangers speculate if I am trans or not based on my selfies and physical appearance (I'm not), but from what I understand being trans is far more than appearances and it hurts the trans community and individuals if you just assume based off appearance, especially physical features
sorry if any of this was inappropriate or misworded x

nayrt but as a nonbinary person i don't think anything you said was inappropriate! i think it's pretty rude to speculate about someone's gender irl, regardless of whether they're cis, trans, or nb. there's plenty of gnc cis people and trans people who are stealth/don't medically transition, so it's not like you can "tell" just by looking anyways. i don't mind as much with the pixel dragons, but i definitely understand why it makes some people uncomfortable.

nyart

hey stealth and not medically transitioning are not the same, often in fact complete opposites
