Sorry for this dumbo question but do y'all have any good skincare tips to share? My skin is a goddamn mess and I'll try anything

Basic salicylic acid scrub- like St Ives apricot scrub or some shit.

Once you've scrubbed and cleaned, use a basic toner- witch hazel is best!

Then moisturise with a benzoyl peroxide lotion.

The salicylic acid plus the scrub helps clear out dead skin cells and clear pores. The toner helps your skin take in more moisture. The benzoyl peroxide lotion moisturises your skin and helps kill bacteria that causes pustules.

Once a week, do a mask- I like the charcoal shit that peels off.

Do NOT use blackhead strips, they can do serious damage to your pores!

Top off during the day with some witch hazel wipes, or a cotton ball dipped in witch hazel- it helps with inflammation!

(They make varieties that smell like rose or lavender if you don't like the scent of plain witch hazel.)

For deep zits that won't come to a head- those are cystic- do NOT try to pop them, you'll make them worse. Use hydrocolloid patches to try to draw out the crap and shrink them down a bit. (They really do work, also on brewing blemishes! They're a bit expensive, but they WORK)

And I know this is an old, tired mantra, but drink more water.

I had REALLY bad acne pop up after I started HRT and this regimen has helped keep the whiteheads at bay. I still get cystic zits, but that's par the course with growing facial hair.

I hope this helps!

That specific scrub is actually bad for skin, it can lead to long-term damage from microtears :( lots of exfoliating products are just too harsh in general. I have the kind of skin that looks like it's crying out to be sandpapered like that but it's ultra-sensitive so I recently started using squalene cleanser and it slaps, takes care of crusty ole skin cells without the irritation of gritty scrubs

Products with simple ingredient lists targeted for your specific skin type is the way to go! Expect some trial and error in finding your best routine.

I have combination skin and I use African black soap, Vitamin C micellar water wipes, and aloe vera on my face twice a day (morning and night).

with what hasn't been said already, I like to change my pillow cases every couple days since they are in contact with you face more than almost everything else (generally speaking of course)
