Okay seriously what the flying fuck is up with Fanglongmon/Huanglongmon/whoever hacked their account or whatever went on with that ?????

User DiamondJewel #744995 came into existence shortly after the lock, started picking up pure G2 Imps in a similar manner, naming them after fandom characters, getting UMAs done in the exact same style as before. Now THAT account is locked, and I've just noticed user AerisLei #5067 ALSO recently picked up a few G2 Imps - some very old ones from dragonsrus's current purge, so they were NOT cheap - and their last forum activity was 5 years ago. Did that account get hacked too??? Feels a bit suspicious to have the same G2 Imp pattern???

Adding to the oddness, they friended user malafight #537583 just yesterday (seemingly dead lair, 0 energy dergs but one hatched a month ago; last forum activity over a year ago), and malafight friended DiamondJewel JUST before then, also on the 19th, so that lock had to have been EXTREMELY recent. malafight may not have anything to do with this but the timing is very weird.

The benign explanation is probably that this is a friend group from a different site that did some cross-site trading and has some overlap in FR interests, but that doesn't explain how DiamondJewel got locked (again???) or why a "friend" suddenly has the exact same pattern of pure G2 Imp collecting+naming.

I'm so confused. Also please leave some Imps for the rest of us goddamn it, I had my eye on one Aeris yoinked. ToT

Highly likely that they're just buying accounts RMT from CS or any other off-site pet sim. Buy several accounts to act as a shell for funds or have a back up if one gets banned.

DiamondJewel was submitted UMAs with blatant ties to other older UMAs to pass as their own. That likely got them their second ban. More people need to be reporting this because they are going through accounts like crazy. At least they're stupid enough to make it obvious. Staff not doing an IP ban is stupid af.

outright IP bans are generally reserved for people who are harmful to the fr community, like you know, flagrant racists or harassers.

rmt is annoying but not on that level of dangerous and besides IP bans can be maneuvered around if you're determined enough.

This is 100% block evasion and people have already gotten PM spammed by their new accounts.

Not to mention the theft they've done to accent makers.

This user IS harmful to the community. They ARE harassing people.

And an IP ban will fo jack. Ban just one IP? They gey reshuffled onfo a new or they whip out a VPN. Ban a large enough rsngevto actually stop them? Massive collateral damage. FR doesn't seem to be willing to take said collateral damage since known VPN IPs aren't banned.

Is anyone in the G2 Imp Discords and happen to know if anything has been discussed there about keeping an eye on suspicious accounts and/or potential safeguards to take to try to prevent all these Imps getting lost to locked accounts?

yes block evasion does fall under harassment but not every rmt-er does it? in fact, very few of them probably do because it's a guaranteed way to get attention on you and your account.

also come off it, an rmt-er getting a valuable accent is not on the same level of community harm that a rampant racist or harasser would do. one of those sucks and is annoying. the other makes your community and game unsafe to play, particularly for children.

Let's be honest. IP bans are ridiculously easy to dodge. There's a reason Wikipedia has to blanket ban VPN IPs *snd* block in /32 or /64 for bad trolls.

God DAMN and now dragonsrus is locked??? Their sales went through Ningguang so I thought that one was legit! Rest in fucking pieces to the remaining AH listings, holds, and that one survivor of the super rare lineage that was listed for 100kG lmfao

They were harassed a few times by Aerislei for their gen twos and didn't get a chance to block them before Aerislei did their shit. It's highly likely a temp lock while the gems are dealt with.

That's... a little confusing tbh. Life gets in the way and all, but how long does it take to click the block button...? The G2s were listed on the AH for a few days minimum. You'd think that'd be plenty of time to click a button, especially if they were getting harassed "a few times" and didn't want to deal with Aeris...?

The message I got was their ipad was dying. They actually had to ask me how to block since it's not a function they're familiar with. (Mindless, if you read this, I do have receipts to back the things I type out here). The best I can tell everyone is Dragons is... a boomer. Quite literally. Have you ever had to explain how a computer works to someone who's never turned one on? A little like that. They've collected for years pures as I was familiar with them before.

I told them if their story is matching to what they're telling me it probably is a temp one. That was... a lot of gems at once for those dragons. I want to stress something though--this behavior by Fang/DJ/A is both sudden and unrelenting.

And gods, don't get me started on them stealing from older UMA artists. It's not just the imp community hit by this. A lot of 2013-2014 era UMAs caught their attention for both collecting and replicating to pass off as their own creation.

AYRT Fair enough! I forget there are players who may not be as familiar with various mechanics. Hopefully it is temporary.

Out of curiosity, does anyone have a comparison source for the UMA issue? I'm not familiar with old skins. Relatedly, I did see that the DJ acc resubmitted the exact same skins as Fanglongmon had, which I thought wasn't allowed; I thought you had to make subtle changes if you wanted to "resubmit" a skin from a locked acc. Granted I didn't investigate all of them, but the ones I did check looked perfectly 1:1, so I'm curious how they got through if that rule is supposedly still in place.

tbh given that ningguang was handling the sales, it's likely dragonsrus is a legit account. ningguang has assisted the g2 community for years, and i've not seen them involved in sus activiy. it was brought up in the g2 server today that dragonsrus had not blocked Aerislei and the dragons were purchased. i would think the ban could be temp till dragon submits an appeal and the sales & transactions are looked into?
who knows at this point, guess we'll have to see what happns from here
