Am I missing something? They're just against the limited time nature of the familiar, not the charity itself. And the pronouns thing seems valid given all the points other people brought out. This person seems prickly and maybe a bit awkward rather than bigoted.

I think you're seeing what you want to see (that the poster is "bad", therefore "antiwoke" too) - I have over two hundred fully finished and totally perfect for me dragons that have no deeper meaning than 'this is a pretty PNG' and if suddenly there was a box in their profiles that shows something I did not choose to do yet I am forced to make up (say, pick a pronoun for what amounts to a wallpaper for me), I'd be very unhappy too.

Were you also "very unhappy" when we got the ability to name familiars and the game put a gun to your head and forced you to make sure each dragon had a familiar with a name? Or are you irrationally irritated about anything adjacent to pronouns?

No one would be "forcing" you to "make up" anything. You could, in fact, leave it alone.

Adding or not a familiar is optional, and if you do not add a familiar, that box is fully empty - and that's why I do not add familiars to my dragons: the familiars appear pasted into the dragon/scene combination and that looks ugly to me. Pronouns in profiles or summary boxes as the suggestion mentions (because I, unlike apparently you, read the suggestion instead of reacting to a random quote) are your headcanons which my dragons do not have because they are pretty PNGs and not living human beings. Hence being against specific pronoun boxes in a dragon PNG profile has nothing to do with pronouns themselves. All of this you could have read yourself as most of the replies both for and against in that suggestion thread mention multiple visual/technical points, but you decided to irrationally stick to the "evil antiwoke" image you created. What's next on the menu, exalting is killing?

Yea, call it as it really is guys. This person is just selfish and inconsiderate of others. Pronouns spots are at worst a mild inconvenience to you(as it will most likely default to nothing and be optional) and would make others happy.

The suggestion thread OP that I looked at presented it in a way that if you don’t enter the pronouns, nothing shows up at all. So I’m confused by your concerns since you can just ignore it on your dragons and they would appear exactly as they do now, if implemented as originally suggested.

I never really get the point of No Supporting completely optional features that you can easily ignore on your end if you don’t want to use them. If other people don’t mind the ‘clutter’ on their dragons, who cares? You don’t have to put it on yours.

People can already do that in the bio or broadcast or wherever they can type words. And they can be reported for it, and I’m certain staff would remove it, and warn or even ban them if it’s repeated behavior. The same would obviously apply here.

I’m neutral on the suggestion myself, but I don’t see an issue with additional customization options. As has also been pointed out numerous times, if it’s not something you want to use, you wouldn’t have to.

Also it’s irrelevant to the comment I was replying to, where I was just pointing out that people can already abuse customizable sections of that site and that’s already against the rules. I don’t think that should be a reason to not implement it.

Staff: we are running a fundraiser, historically an event with an end date, and have an item as a thank you for donating, a very common thing for fundraisers to do
Gryphire: this is manipulative and in bad faith and staff should never do this again and my primary concern is not that staff is donating to an asian-american charity after years of increasingly violent sinophobia in the world but that i think fundraiser rewards are bad faith and wrong
