i think people like you will look for any reason to complain about how FR handles things, regardless of what they do.

the price is the same as other gem familiars. the chances of these being accessible to f2p players is very high given the cost and length of time it's available. in my mind i see this similar to missing a festival familiar that may or may not end up being expensive to buy from other players.

im just so tired. can we get worked up about issues that are actually a problem? this is just so mid and im tired of this "lmao look at these performative racists" instead of having real discussions

There's no such thing as horse girl recovery. Only remission. In my case, I manage the condition with weekly chores at a therapy barn, with rare lapses into riding. And I shall join you in wanting ALL OF THE HORSIE DRAGONS. (Although male Pearlcatchers have scratched that itch pretty well for me thus far, particularly when they wear the carousel sets.)

The breed looks like a deer to me, as a horsegirl, and sadly M pearlcatcher is more my style. I can't even cover this one with carousel apparel to play pixel horsedragons. But a deerlike dragon is still a great addition (even if it is a dumb undressable ancient).

+1, and the fact that they had to write an entire post full of disclaimers ahead of the release proves it. fr fanbase has justified concerns sometimes but it’s kinda crazy to accuse them of being performative for releasing something that there’s already precedent for (a gem breed ancient). i don’t think they’re being predatory with a *$2.50* paywalled familiar, *which the proceeds for go to charity and not the site*, but i guess i see why people would be unhappy with that. but the dragon itself is fine to be a gem breed. you don’t even have to pay irl money to get gems.

Honestly, if they just had a percent of whatever the cost is for gems bought going to the nonprofit would've been so much better. It would make much more the the cause imo and not cause as much of a stir. It would also allow them to release the familiar like they did the others.

Seriously, especially how they're trying to be sensitive, compared to the disaster that was the Auraboa's lore and the Beastclan Wars.

I'm just tickled they're FINALLY moving away from canine/feline inspo. Would have LOVED hooves on these, but their feet look cool, so I'll take the half win.

I will be honest, if any of my friends can't buy the thing for cash, I'm going to offer to make the donation to buy one for them in exchange for the gem or treasure equivalent. It will be very accessible with a 90 day window.
