Tbh it's more than likely going to be the same exact rinse and repeat situation that has been going on since the first scandal broke. New staff come on then CJ does/says something that makes them mad and they post to the salt blog about it on the way out. When they eventually open the site it's going to look and perform exactly as it does now since they still rely on Discord to carry their website. All of the current users will finally be able to sell their valuables to anybody who hasn't kept up with the drama and then the site is going to hang on for like a month with 50 users before collapsing. Honestly since the FR team seems to be really opposed to any mentions of it and given how easy it to find all of the drama on various other websites it's probably going to be extremely hard for anyone to make a cross site profit after the 1st day. So the site probably won't even last the full month after launch.
I know this seems extremely pessimistic but the site has been dying since the AI art scandal and the community in general is only hanging on for future profits right now. 🤷♂️ Literally the only way they can get more than 100 users online is by sending out gifts which won't keep the site running in the long term.
Isn't there something about Santae wanting to only allow cross site trades with approved sites and set up some API shit or whatever? I don't play but whenever there's mention of someone wanting to jump ship and sell this gets brought up (along with the fact a couple of sites don't allow trading with games in beta).
It's actually incredible to me how steeped in drama Santae is. It feels like every month there's SOMETHING new going on. I don't care for the site, but its still really sad to see a pretty promising game spiral like this. It just adds to the poor rep of newer sites.
yeah it was said by one of the devs that they would only allow cross site trading if the other site directly names santae as an approved site. and i also heard mention of an API or in general the owner wants to monitor the trades to make sure people are trading things of "equal" value 🙄
they already fucked up because no way FR would directly name any site like that, let alone one who did what CJ did. i can't image too many sites would for liability reasons.
but honestly who knows if we'll even get that far, they've been in "beta" for ages with no real clear goals of their timeline for real launch.
CJ wants the ability to blame competition for not allowing crossite trading. This means when other sites refuse to endorse him and do what he wants, "It's not us. It's them."
He probably sees it as less money in his pocket so undesirable.
