Wow. When this topic came up and all the kid haters started posting about not wanting to interact with kids as it inevitably does (which is fine, whatever) I was gonna make a joke about how I find a lot of 20 somethings annoying as fuck and how I should put something in my profile about it... then this person got posted....that's. I'm 35.
"I mean" and "I feel" are normal parts of conversation- we are taught to use these in grade school to help us communicate better with our peers. Unless I'm mis-remembering 6th grade english, "I feel" is proper when you're describing your opinion rather than a fact. I'll admit to having picked up "I mean..." as a sentence starter and use it waaay too often though.... But both are used a lot for like... mediation? Solving arguments? Rather than going "you did this" you're supposed to say "I feel this when..." or something of the like, so that the other person doesn't feel attacked. This is supposed to be an adult way of speaking to another person about the problems you might be having with them. There must be some context we're missing there regarding these.
insert something here about how I grew up online with the everyday conversation rp stuff, that's just how it was in the early 00s in online fandom spaces. The kids are doing it because we were doing it, of the ones that don't immediately go 'cringe' anyway. I can see why it might be ingrained in some people. So it's a little funny to me going onto the rp lite dragon game and not expect some level of rp interaction, just a little.

Fascinating individual.
