I ADORE the gryphon and the skin selection is pretty great.

Ngl though, I'm disappointed in the apparel. It really feels like it came from a rejected outfit set and they decided to use the "gothic" recolor's umbrella as fest apparel. Referencing Lightweaver in the tooltip for Shadow's holiday also feels wrong.

When I read the name, I assumed it was going to look like an ink cap mushroom; open with shadow goop sliding down off it. Was rather disappointed when I actually saw it. Agreed that it just looks like regular apparel.

That honestly would have been 1000% times better and now I yearn for the ink cap mushy umbrella... we could have had it all...

Lol they've silently changed the tooltip since this morning. It originally said "shadows cast by those of the Weaver's flight are abnormally large," but it more properly says "the Binder's" now. Guess someone got their gods mixed up.

There's a post in the typo megathread that might have been what tipped them off.

ayrt ah okay so it was just an innocent typo instead of some weird vendetta against shadow flight like op was trying to imply. what a shock.

ayrt. Surprise! I am op, just forgot to mention it. I wasn't trying to imply it was some kind of vendetta what the heck. I just thought it felt wrong for a different flight's god to be referenced in a fest item. How does that imply I think there's a vendetta against Shadow?

When I saw the first anon's comment, I thought they mistook Binder for Blinder as like a pejorative for the Lightweaver. Didn't realize it was actually a typo.

I think it would've been cute if they kept in the Lightweaver reference. I like the idea of light dragons paradoxically having larger shadows--like the umbrella is playing a prank on them.

I think the umbrella is cute on its own (I have a dragon that works great with it), but as a festival piece it’s pretty lackluster. Like I kinda get why they picked it for Shadow (umbrella casts shadows (also probably not why they picked it but umbrellas seem like a fun quirky accessory for trickster types)), but they really could have done more with it. I think the goopy umbrella/mushroom umbrella some people talked about would have been a more interesting take on it.
