I'm trying to find my elderly aunt's senior dog a home and I feel so out of my depth. He's a 10 yr old shih tzu and he can be sweet but he also has some issues. I reached out to local rescues/humane society but they won't take him because of his behavior issues (which is fair.) Idk, just feeling dejected over the whole thing. I can't keep him and I don't know if I can find someone to take him in.

in my town we have a lost pets group on facebook and sometimes people will also post situations similar to yours, have you tried anything like that? a lot of people who watch those groups are fosters or work with rescues
does he have an established vet? you could also try giving them a call or taking him in to see one and ask for some recommendations.
Hang in there. Seconding what the other anon said about local pet rescue/rehoming facebook groups - in my country at least, they're a godsend for signal boosting and general support.
