plenty of people have seeking art threads, and i think a few have continuously seeking ones! i've run one or two successfully.
just make sure that you explain exactly what you're looking for (such as type of art like headshots or signature banners, and style like cel-shaded or sketches) and what dragons you want art for. it also helps if you link to any info you have about your dragons (like biographies, other art you've gotten, etc.) so others have an idea of what you are looking for with individual dragons.
also, don't be afraid to say no if something isn't to your tastes! it's better to let someone know what they're offering you isn't what you're looking for so they're not left hanging to know whether or not you want to commission them. it lets them find other clientele who do!
I've had artists reply very quickly when posting in the Seeking megathread. I don't really like individual LF threads unless you really need the space for lots of pictures and descriptions.
