I appreciate that you laid it all out like this but honestly to figure out they're a liar you literally only need the one line of their bio.

"We are a professionally diagnosed plural system."

1. There is no professionally recognized diagnostic criteria for plural systems that would result in plurality being listed in someone's medical records.

2. Even if there was, you're not getting it in fucking Texas.

I'm not commenting on people who are forced to self-diagnose because healthcare in America is a travesty, so I hope no one interprets it that way. The "professionally diagnosed" lie is what I'm pointing at.

DA Of course they're loudly proclaiming they're a system. 🙄 The only two systems I know (who find it a useful way to describe their brain weirdness and don't use it as a facet of their public facing identity) only told me a long time after I'd earned their trust.

AYRT

I don't personally feel it's my or anyone's place to say whether someone is or is not what they are claiming to be in a case like this /except/ the provable lie: that the condition was diagnosed by a professional.

AYRT I didn't say "claim," I said "proclaim." It's a red flag to me when people make mental illnesses a huge part of their personality as well as the way they present to strangers.

I have no stake in the AC drama I just wish people would stop using their childish behavior to make a blanket judgement about being open about a mental illness a "red flag". This happens every single time AC gets brought up and I'm getting really tired of it.

Not that I'm particularly open about it on FR myself, but I hate that if I were open about it I'd be instantly compared to weirdos like AC in peoples minds.

Also you can get diagnosed with DID in texas, I know people who have been? Not looking to start a discussion about whether they're lying or not either, because that really isn't my call to make. Saying you outright can't is incorrect though.

Telling everyone that being open about your mental illness being a red flag is not great. It stigmatizes honesty that could help every party involved with interactions.

The red flag is the combination of openness combined with constant begging and hostility.

I openly discuss my mental health issues, though not on FR(it doesn't feel the right place). But I don't beg, and I take responsibility for my behavior. It is an explanation, not a get out of jail free card.

DA - OP of "diagnosis" post.

They're not claiming to be diagnosed DID. They're claiming their plural system, specifically, was diagnosed.
