I fully agree it's unlikely to be detected (same can be said for most multi's, some minor bots, scripts, ect.), I still think it's ridiculous to think that users pointing out that something is objectively considered bannable by the staff is what causes banxiety, when really that banxiety is just users knowingly doing something you've been told not to do. If running a script makes someone anxious, then they can just... not run the script, which said user already chose. No one's responsible for how another user feels because they don't want to reassure rule-breakers that it's totally and 100% safe.
Eh, I dunno. To me, auto-refresher anon's use case seemed like such a total non-issue from both a detectability and fair-play standpoint, it didn't need to be shot down so hard? Indignant anon overreacted and worded themselves poorly, but I get their point on the image of staff banning over this being a draconian and wildly inaccurate one - I can see some other player who refreshes a lot as part of their usual gameplay (AH/MP sniping or just crappy internet) coming across this later and freaking out. You're right that someone who needs reassurance from SMR of all places is probably better off just not doing it, though.

if you're anxious about a thing because you know that it's not allowed, and you've spent so much time developing your account that it's not something you want to risk losing, it's just better off to not do the thing. if you're setting up a program to refresh every 1 - 3 minutes just for notifications, it's probably time to assess if you might have addictive habits.
also judging by the anon's second submission, they said they made the choice before waiting for replies, so no one in the replies was responsible. they made the choice for themselves.

They could just be a PB/raffle attendant. It's super useful when you're doing it on a 2nd monitor.
