as a light flight member, i am specifically disgusted by the of behaviour people who share the same flight as i for this exact reason. yes, they're pixel dragons, but the statements being made about them have real impact on the real people who read them. the dragons are fake, but these player's *words* aren't, and users brushing it all off as 'the dragons are not alive/a human' is just an excuse to keep being this hurtful towards people within our community.
i won't apologize in the stead of people who don't represent me and my own thoughts for their harmful words and poor behaviour, but i'm sorry to see you hurting this way because people feel that their opinions take precedence over thinking before they speak.
I will say as much that I at least don't recall this much being said about Sage, an actual humanoid character. There were comments about the way she's drawn's perspective being off, but I don't recall having seen anyone explicitly say things like "I wish she was skinny :(" like I have these dragons. The Aquarius familiar though, unfortunately can't say the same. I wasn't here for that fam's release, but I have seen people's reactions to it from that time, and some of them were blatantly upon the lines of "it's fat, don't like it". Dunno how common of a sentiment it was, but it did exist. Gross :/
I was around for that. I remember how ugly it got. some people said it looked uncanny, but others were so upset that it was heavy set that I wish I could've just shaken them by the shoulders and told them to shut up.
