DA I wish I could see what the hell people are talking about with the "about to burst" perception. It looks pretty natural to me? Maybe I've spent too much time in the DeviantArt mines where my standards are permanently fucked.
AYRT It's the fact that it’s very smooth and very round. Also I guess the invertebrate of ot all makes me think it's just going to be goo over a thin layer of skin.
If we are making comparisons to human beings then the female looks like a pregnant person in the last trimester, not a fat person.
AYRT I guess we are just seeing things differently because to me it just looks like how I think that pose would work out logically with that body type. Yeah maybe it's a bit stretched since it's not a 1:1 with how human body fat works, but it's still kinda disturbing how many people are conjuring up really gross imagery (oozing, popping, etc) just out of nowhere.
Your comment reminds me of that "draw a dog and I'll tell whether you're a furry" meme...
Personal opinion: Hatchling's and male's legs are longer than the belly: natural rotund shape. Female's legs are shorter than the belly: she looks ready to go into labour to lay the eggs as she doesn't appear to be capable (anymore?) of walking without dragging the belly.
