Also, we have like… two outright bug-adjacent dragons with Aethers and Veilspuns. Maybe four if you consider Faes and Dusthides buggy. It’s not like there’s an overwhelming ratio of bug dragons.

Definitely agree - there’s millions of bugs out there. There’s a ton of unique ways to make bug dragons!

The last few releases, and nearly every "what do you want from the next ancient" thread has had more than a few people wishing we had a more bug like dragons.

People want bugs.

I was hoping Light's ancient would be a massive, horrifying behemoth that was a "mistake" precursor to Imperials.

But that's putting too much faith in staff's ability to step out of their current rut/comfort zone.

Feels like the weird factor peaked with Aberrations, so I'm not trying to get too excited that the new ancient isn't another flat/blunt faced noodle with bland genes. Give us something REALLY messed up!!

problem with that is imperials are explicitly stated to be the lightweaver's first creation and THEY'RE the mistake

Yeah, it's a pipe dream. I just feel like we have enough cutesy, tiny dragons.

...but I would LOVE a terrifying tiny thing that can be deadly if groups of them swarm like Fireworms from HTTYD, or those fireflies from Atlantis.

Especially if they actually do look terrifying, but by themselves, they're too tiny to be anything more than an ankle biter.

I’m going to be very sad if Light of all flights has a cutesy ancient.

But I am not a lover of cutesy and never really have been so that might just be my taste.

Ugh, I hate this design so much! They aren't dragons at all, even less so than Aethers, just caterpillars with wings tacked on. And I was looking forward to a Light ancient, too.
