I think the other referring to 888 back when they were Brightmyth. When Brightmyth got banned, they had PAs out for a skin people had ordered and BM/888 requested the admins take the PAs down, which the admins did
(frozen comment) Re: I won't post this on Suggestions, this is mostly wank
yes it seems like there is some favoritism going on here.
no other person has had the opportunity to have so many things done to a banned account. i knew they were able to get some skins reassigned as they said in the discord but this seems like a bit too much
for some reason? its is a touchy topic that always gets locked? and not to drag on the wank regarding them. they got banned, started over, whatever it’s done.
im talking about the moderator’s actions. some of this stuff isn’t adding up honestly
(frozen comment) Re: I won't post this on Suggestions, this is mostly wank
NAYRT but I think I know what they mean, normally when a UMA gets banned and recreates, their skins they published stay under their old, banned account's name and they can't reprint them and any future skins are under their new name. 888 had every skin he's made, even on Brightmyth, reassigned to 888.
(frozen comment) Re: I won't post this on Suggestions, this is mostly wank
That doesn't seem to be true - I can't search by 888 in the database, but all their Brightmyth skims are still listed under Brightmyth https://www1.flightrising.com/game-database/items/skins?page=1&name=&description=&itemid=&display_type=&skin_category=&skin_type=&skin_by=brightmyth&breed=&sex=&color=&hoard_vault=&sort=name_asc&submit=Apply (Sorry for the long link)
And this post in their skin shop suggests they had to resubmit: https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/skin/3225785/10#post_53906917
Re: I won't post this on Suggestions, this is mostly wank
PSA for you: blocking does nothing to resolve the real issue people are having, which is the fact that the auraboa's price has hard-capped fodder prices for those trying to sell fodder and make money off of the current battle, and forces players to price their fodder at or lower than its listed price if they want their fodder to sell quickly and ensure their profits before dom is calculated. the choice in game design where blocked users still have their listings up but unbuyable has a bigger negative impact than it does positive, and this is one such reason.
(frozen comment) Re: I won't post this on Suggestions, this is mostly wank
just as a heads up, you can't search 888 because there's a user ID of 888 in the game's database, and the database prioritizes ID number over username since it can't change while the latter can. you need to search using 888's id: 670602.
whether or not it's true currently, in an old email between august and undel when the ban was being discussed between them, undel planned to transfer skins to the new account. august posted a screencap of it on his tumblr when it happened.
(frozen comment) Re: I won't post this on Suggestions, this is mostly wank
not diving into wank anon- as this isn’t about them but the mods actions. even though this is new information for some reason discussion is always frozen by the arr mods
“ I requested cancellation for all pending orders of white kitsune on brightmyth so they wouldn't be lost in the void, so I had to send them into queue again.”
refocusing on the fr mods
how is a new account, which counts as a fresh start, able to still manage orders in the skin queue through their previous account?
how is a new account able to request listings in the auction house be modified or removed on their old account?
it’s a fresh start. and that’s okay! again it’s not about that member.
The skins were unlisted because they sent out a load of PAs right before the ban, and the customers were getting errors when they tried to pick them up.
I don't think there is anything wrong with staff not approving/sending out a skin by a banned user back when it was all done manually. It hadn't been approved yet. I think staff should ignore submissions by banned accounts. It's a waste of time. And it was their work.
To be honest, I don't recall any time where that was banned account with skins in queue before.
(frozen comment) Re: I won't post this on Suggestions, this is mostly wank
and i say it doesn’t matter because it doesn’t matter what the banned account did.
the account was banned. period.
like any other platform or any other member if your account is banned you can’t just ask the mods if they can help you with a few things that were left incomplete.
to anyone else or on any other platform, the answer is no.
fr mods also stated in that screenshot on tumblr, and confirmed by the fresh account, they would have given the fresh account more access to the banned account’s skins
that’s not okay.
(frozen comment) Re: I won't post this on Suggestions, this is mostly wank
where are you seeing that they would have given the fresh account more access to the banned account's skins? everything i saw on their tumblr was that they were allowed to resubmit skins with edits, which any banned artist is allowed to do. they asked for the new account's username so that people can't get the new account locked by submitting art theft claims. i'm fairly certain JavaMP is doing the same thing with their accents (resubmitting with minor edits), so it's not really a favoritism thing.
If the Naomi dragon had a joke name do you think she would still be the “glitch queen”. Like I’ve seen dragons named PoorBurntPizza. If she had a name like that would she have been treated as a community shitpost and not a creepypasta
I think it would have been memed and collected by a different kind of player. Naomi is a good solid name. PoorBurntPizza would get different treatment and probably a lower value.
(frozen comment) Re: I won't post this on Suggestions, this is mostly wank
So, asking them to take down auctions that would confuse and upset users because they can't buy them up is wrong? A lot of these were PAs of reprints that couldn't be picked up from a banned account.
Having a skin that wasn't fully processed canceled is wrong? Staff should waste time approving it just to make an item that will never be used added to the userbase?
They can't have any of their old skins reprinted. They have so many skins attributed to the old account that they can only release with changes. Like every banned artist has been allowed.
I do get tired of the BM/888 vendettas.
(frozen comment) Re: I won't post this on Suggestions, this is mostly wank
I guess you're right. I can see the staff's point of view, too; 888 is likely a huge source of income for the site, it makes sense that the staff wouldn't want to drive them off and would do them some courtesies. I'm surprised they came back to the site at all.
But you're wrong in saying that the mods haven't done similar things for other banned accounts. I have heard that they can also rename previous accounts of the same banned user to 'free up' the username so they could keep using it.
(frozen comment) Re: I won't post this on Suggestions, this is mostly wank
For me, this isn't about 888, it's about them agreeing to cancel the PAs, which I think should be standard for any banned user. Their auctions should be canceled, so things like the Auraboa can't happen again.
(frozen comment) Re: I won't post this on Suggestions, this is mostly wank
these were PAs tho. as in auctions from one user to another.
the auraboa is a public auction. the reason public auctions work like this is so that if somebody gets hacked and somebody tries to liquidate the account, the auctions get frozen along with the ban so that the devs don't have to track down and inconvenience potentially hundreds or thousands of users to get somebody's stuff back.
account bans aren't always issued for bad behavior and sometimes even those are overturned.
(frozen comment) Re: I won't post this on Suggestions, this is mostly wank
It's not like it was all favoritism - he didn't get to keep his old name because he was a popular skin creator when normal banned accounts get to have the banned account renamed.
