An important update:

Due to a specific person being a complete child, comments are going to be screened by default.

This is only temporary, and I apologize for the inconvenience- this is going to be a pain in the ass for me, too, but multiple people have come forward about fears of doxxing, and this is the only way to make sure any doxxing is contained.

(This basically will force the doxxer to make a DW account to post any doxxing attempts unscreened, and will let me more reliably report them to DW staff/authorities.)

Again, I apologize, and will be working to unscreen comments as fast as possible, but I'm only one person.

(Vasemod has had some personal issues come up, so I am the only mod atm. Please bear with me until this bit of annoyance has passed.)

my people's language has ONE book to learn syntax/grammar from, and ONE dictionary, and they're both by the same (now deceased) author, and my people are SUPER distrustful of outsiders learning the language because when they do, they use it for their white Wiccan shit.

I only knew a few words/phrases from my paternal grandmother, and wasn't allowed to learn bc my mother was a racist twat. So now I have to try to learn it from a book, and let me tell you- that shit is HARD, especially when you don't have anyone around that speaks it fluently to learn from.

I'm not as active on FR as I used to be these days and tend to just chill out doing my own thing. But every now and then I take a look through the AH to see if there's any dragons that interest me and goddamn. Why are like 90% of the dragons being sold on the AH (above LAH mind you, so not for fodder) sooo ugly. Do people really buy, sell and own dragons like this. Am I THAT in my own bubble about my tastes in dragons?? These are awful. I really don't think anyone's buying your Lemon/Navy/Maize Tiger/Current Underbelly dragon for 20kt man. Or that Nightshade/Buttercup/Hunter Base/Seraph/Lace dragon for 50kt. Both real examples. I'm losing my mind.

the "no pronouns" quote from the bio seemed relevant tho - could be a personal identity, or a dig at people who Do include pronouns in their bios. i have a tough time deciphering tone on the Internet

DA yeah I don't think learning Japanese belongs on this list lol. But your point about it being subjective is very true. I am from another Asian culture and if a random white westerner did all that with my culture I wouldn't really care. It's not hurting me or the people back home, and I have met plenty of people with a particular fascination for my culture who are cool about it. I actually really like when that happens bc it helps me feel proud of my culture. But if someone tried to profit off of my culture in a way that exploited my people, or was only interested in it in a condescending or clinical way or something, that would be a problem.

I really feel for you :/ at least with many more common languages you can watch movies/TV shows or read kids books to familiarize yourself with it. Plenty of people have learned English from consuming American media.

Block evasion is shitty but Alyx has engaged in some pretty obnoxious behavior regarding G1s so this to me is just an instance of clowns clowning on each other

Thanks. It's also more convoluted because there's MANY dialects/vernacular that are similar but JUST different enough that it can cause mistranslation issues.

EG: The word for an outsider SOUNDS the same across most of the variations, but they're all spelled differently- some drastically so. Also, there's some differences that have caused some fights with some mutuals on social media where a word that means "incorrigible" in their variation means "twat/cunt" in mine. Lol WOOPS. (We had a laugh about it later once we'd cleared things up.)

Agreed. I dislike Alyxsandre as much as anyone else, but I did find it hypocritical that Weevil acts like he didn't do anything wrong when he admitted in other spaces to actually engaging in the behavior he was banned for.

I think this is reaching, by a lot - not every "feathers behind the back" is "warbonnet imagery" and artwork is subjective, so I have a strong feeling that your personal art headcanons on how it should be drawn are influencing the demands to change it. OP, is there more to Weevil than is known, or are you being more dramatic about this than necessary? "given to me by an anonymous source to post for fear of retaliation by him and his friends," the source would still be anonymous if they posted it here themselves. I haven't seen anything that these people are dangerous or have any desire to fuck with anyone other than Alyx.

I don't understand the inclusion of Vynne here. It looks to me like they're joking about how they were banned under suspected harassment despite not knowing alyx, not *admitting to* any actual harassment.

I don't see the problem with this though? Its just names, now if they were appropriating the culture it would be different and it would be cool for more than just popular Japanese names because of anime were used, but yea. Its not inherently bad to use names outside of your culture, otherwise I'd have to name all my dragons Bob and Susan (I name my dragons things like Sandstorm or Puddles anyways lol).

they literally don't have legs, something a modern breed can't do. way back when ancients were announced they made it pretty clear that was what ancients were going to be about, making dragons that don't quite fit into the modern breed standard because they don't wear apparel. I genuinely don't know where the idea the dragon breed in the dragon game should have new breeds that are "primitive" (yes they were created before moderns but that's no reason to think they would be more primitive since the same deities designed them lore wise) or "other" (people would not like it if they didn't look enough like dragons in their eyes and there's only so much othering you can do to a dragon while keeping it mainstream, and fr is a company that needs to make money and new dragons breeds must make them money why else would they want to increase production of them. having a niche breed only a select few like would be counter to that)

fwiw I price all of my Stock the Pond abominations at 15g a piece not from expectation to actually sell, but on the off-chance people do buy up an odd combination for breeding projects or w/e. Whoever doesn't sell I just train and exalt myself as soon as they grow up so I have little reason to sell any dragon for 5g when I'm capable of getting 10kt+ from training/exalting it at the very least.

Having interacted with Vynne before, I'm pretty confident Vynne meant their post literally, and posted it out of shock tbh.

One. They have a history of being afraid to break rules, and they avoid doing so at any cost.
Two. They have proof to show that they didn't know where the dragon came from until AFTER the dragon left their lair. Before that, they were just asked to hold the dragon for a sec, which ended up being in their lair for 2 minutes, iirc from the ban report they showed.
Three. They aren't the type to make shady comments, and speak directly most of the time. If they're being sarcastic, it's usually about something positive.

If anything, they got caught in the crossfire in the weevil and Alyx situation.

Pretty pathetic to sit here and bring up drama that's 2 months old, especially after Weevil has already calmly and Nicely talked to Alyx that everything is a misunderstanding.
