Finding a good server is... tough. I find being new to a server makes for a good Litmus test. If the regulars are outright hostile to newbies, I leave and find another server. I'm only in about 4 small servers but I rarely, if ever, encounter conflict. The toxicity happens way more frequently in bigger servers.

Ignore and block wankers. Don't waste your breath on them. This reflecting is a good first step, the next step is to practice what you've learned from your server ban and don't repeat the same mistakes in the next server you join.

It takes a lot to get banned from most Discord servers from what I've seen. You correctly identified (or was told) that being combative is the problem that got you banned. People go on Discord servers to chill, not have heated internet arguments 24/7 - there's salt/drama blogs and suggestions/PVP forum for that. Doesn't really matter that the person you're having a fight with is a wanker posted here, most admins and mods of Discord servers don't like dealing with public drama regardless of who it involves since it makes the server look unfriendly and bad.

But also don't be afraid of leaving servers that are unpleasant and curb the need to actually argue with everyone that you don't personally like or have a mildly bad take - there's a variety of people in Discord servers so it happens. Blocking is always an option.

Gravel is way too fine, and the salt doesn't really look like crystals of salt, but sand.
But, as you said, I will likely never pay attention to these items and don't really care about them. I just wish that they had made gravel and salt a bit more distinctive, regardless of whether they are meant to be 'paired' with sand.

its someone in the cross/souls/sangonomiya/falorni friend group based on the timing of when it started compared to when that group decided to target vinid on discord, this was on the old thread about this. i know more people linked to them and in their group but i think we should be careful discussing this further though given cross's history of doxxing when hes mad. be careful because they seem to have all the time in the world to fuck around like this.

Cross changing to "quidpro," clearly a shortened version of "quid pro quo" or "this for that/tit for tat" is really suspicious. He cleared his bio and seems to have hatched a ton of eggs recently.

I feel like I’m going to sound crazy for this, like I’ll just get told to get over it like I’ve been before, or get told I’m a little dumb for posting this kind of thing on a dragon petsite anon comm, but. Man. It’s hard to talk to people. And I don’t really know who to go to about it, since I don’t really have friends. Not because I’m a “bad person” or like… combative, or anything that I’m aware of that would usually turn people away, but I just feel like there’s something wrong with me that everyone else can see but I just cannot understand. I’ve tried talking to people in the servers I’m in, joining conversations, sharing dragons and stuff like everyone else does, but I get ignored every time I do, so I can’t help but wonder if there’s just something about me that puts people off. I try to be friendly and respond to people when they ask for opinions, I compliment people’s art and writing when they share it, etc… but I always feel like I’m fucking up by doing so, somehow, because I haven’t actually be spoken to in months despite frequently posting in servers. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, but it has to be something, right? I’d love to make friends in my hobby communities the way I used to as a kid but it’s harder than I remember now and I don’t understand why.

By "friends" do you mean people you have one on one convos with and can develop into actual friendships, or just people who recognize and treat you as a regular in the Discords you're in?
I've personally found it nearly impossible to make friends over Discord unless it's in a small group. Maybe I'm kind of old but I find it rude that the norm on Discord is to ignore previous messages if they're not relevant to whatever you wanted to say (especially in art channels where it's so easy to just put an emoji react on the previous item if it didn't get any attention). I sometimes feel like I'm invisible on Discord, even (maybe especially) in my small groups, because people didn't react to something I said earlier. Like if I was sitting in a room with these people and I said something and no one reacted, it would be equally weird to me.
With regard to FR, the easiest way I feel to be recognized and start talking to people is to join some small scene (examples include SIDHA, Dragonwish Foundation, smaller flight servers, like dom servers or Nature's server for newbies, maybe certain subspecies or adopt communities) and contribute to it. I feel like over time I've gotten to know more people as they recognize my name coming up as a contributor to things.

aaa youre so nice but it's ok!! my characters are not usual artfight fare(middle aged men from historical periods) so i dont want to put anyone in an awkward position w them haha. But!! i finally had time yesterday to sit down and browse characters to attack and got my first attack done <3 feeling a lot more inspired

you are probably doing nothing wrong and the things you say are probably fine, like another anon said, it really depends on the audience/time/place how receptive people are

I second the advice to see if you can get involved in some flight rising activity, maybe one of your flight's programs, if they are very active? collaborating towards a common goal can over time lead to more friendly conversations, if you are willing to be very patient

It pisses me off to no end that Earth gets to place top 3 EVERY WEEK even when not even pushing. Fuck Earth for attracting all the heavy exalters from the other flights. Fuck Earth. Fuck Earth so bad oh my god I am so sick of seeing them pass flights that are actually conquest pushing.

Unfortunately staff cannot do anything with offsite proof that people send in.
Such is the case of running petsites, even if people do stuff that is against the ToS they cannot moderate offsite.

who is conquest pushing that earth is passing? everyone aside from water is profit pushing this week, and water is in first. last week arcane was profit pushing, plague was conquesting, and plague took first.
I think that maybe if a flight is pushing at all, profit or no, they should surpass a flight that isn't pushing. it would be nice for flights to have a chance of getting dom bonuses without having to buy the win.

Exalters in *all* flights are always exalting, not just Earth.
its genuinely insulting how some earth players will be like "but we're working for our placement!! we exalt a lot so thats why we place!!" as if they are the only flight doing this. yeah im sure theres pebbles who put a lot of effort in but there's also players in huge flights like shadow and arcane that exalt constantly for money, and their efforts dont mean dick in terms of placement likelihood.
it's also genuinely insulting when people insinuate that earth players aren't somehow working for the bonus and get it just because they're, uh, a small flight? fire has the 2nd lowest flight population and you never see them placing just because they're small, because fire members aren't working all the time for the bonus. plague is a huge flight and they also place all the time because they put the work in too. idk, skill and community issue?
