So can any embers elaborate on the fire Dom tea floating around on SMR? The anons are being quite vague and I'm interested in these top exalters leaving "due to discord toxicity"? Anyone have any experience/input or is it baseless anonymous pot stirring?
Ex-ember here! I left Fire a few weeks ago. Here's what I know and some other things I heard from a friend who stayed in Fire a little longer than I did.
To start off, Fire runs the same few events with very low incentive prizes for a profit push every month. People have suggested other events and provided high incentive prizes out of their own hoard for those events if they were to run. Sure, they would be losing money, but it would be fun for participants and good for the bank (possibly). One of those people suggested an event that the dom leads did not end up running. Instead, they ran it as their own separate idea but 'simplified'.
The bank also doesn't share what's actually in the bank. One of the leads said that it could be leaked if they were to share. When I was still in Fire, I had zero clue what was actually in the bank besides 200kg in funds. I'm not sure how it is now though. I also heard that when that bank holder got banned years ago, one person replaced all the missing funds from their own hoard. I also heard that the same person replaced all of the OOFR prizes in 2017 when someone ran off with all of the prizes. That exact person also would provide tons of currency to the bank whenever they ran low during conquests. They left Fire now so...
I don't know about Fire Discord toxicity because I spent a lot of time inactive on the original server. I do know that when an active member got banned from the server from an argument with a dom lead in a channel over the bank itself. The gist of it was that they wanted to know what was in the bank, dom lead said no, they said they wanted a refund for their items. Dom lead couldn't tell them where the sprite collection they donated went, dom lead pulled the 'what if I left with everything' card. That person was the one that replaced the lost bank funds when the bank got banned and replaced an entire OOFR so they said they could handle it if the dom lead did quit. They got banned and the chat log was deleted. Afterwards, some people asked where that person went and why they left the server. I do believe that one of the dom leads said something along the lines of 'they just left it's not that deep' though.
From what I've seen, embers are extremely willing to do dom. It's just the dom leads that don't. In the last push I was in, the event that was running was the 'simplified' one mentioned before. It's similar to a house cup except it's in 4 teams with no OOF help. One member managed to completely steamroll the competition with I believe 18k levels? The next highest was 12k or 8k, I don't remember. That one is the one that shared a few details in a SMR post's replies. Embers can and will absolutely participate in dom, the leads just have to run an event to motivate players to do things.
I do believe that Fire plans to bring new members into the Ashfall Alliance after Flameforger's, so we'll just have to wait and see if anything changes. It is true that all the top exalters have left Fire already, the major funder and the 18k levels exalter included, with little or no plans to return.
TLDR; top exalters did leave, Fire dom scene is dead due to leads hosting the same 3 events every profit push, bank isn't very transparent either.
AA rude to users. Get defensive when anyone asks questions. Saw weird convo between friendly user and AA one night. Next day user not there anymore and the convo was gone. user left fire too. saw LOADS of fire members who do DOM more than me change flights. Thought it was weird. Not surprised. asked AA once if they needed any help and was told that everything was handled unless I wanted to donate art. AA wanted a lot of art for FF for free this week. if it was more than a week away I would have done it but it's a week out and I have commissions cant help.
Seriously, deets would be nice. I wonder why they seem to only show up festival, and not much else. They could be up with Earth.
I will note, they'll be fine at getting their festival. No one is going to try to steal it(unless a leaving player is butthurt enough to organize it), and if there's a chance of it being taken, they'll end up with folks funneling them dragons.

It’s real. I’m a fire member, and also the og smr shitstirrer and I recognize the username. All I can say is that at least 4 dom heavy folks left fire for earth or plague directly because fire is very ineffective at dom despite the size and energy fire has.
have there been any efforts to bring new blood to the dom team or is it hard to become a lead/too cliquey/something? sounds like it's ripe for new people, like lightning went through last year
Weren't they the flight whose bank got banned a while ago? I seem to remember hearing something about that but I don't know how it ended, I think it was last year or so.
No, it was actually several years ago, before SvF happened (2019 I think?). Same time as plague's bank person being banned as well, during their own fest push
Sorry, wording is hard - yes, Fire did have their bank banned but it was several years ago and they've had plenty of battles and whatnot in the meantime, which IMO shows they recovered well from whatever happened
SvF was in no way planned beforehand. Shadow had that particular week announced months beforehand, and then a while before their actual push Fire showed up as a conquest during that week as well. When approached by the matter, Fire said that they "do this push every year" yet they haven't done a conquest since — and when Earth conquested for the first week of NOTN Fire backed down and did a profit instead. Back to SvF, Fire also told Shadow they were not even supposed to know about their push, refused to coordinate with their orgs (theme wise and whatnot) if you look at their threads you will see entirely different aesthetics.
Earlier this year there was a ruckus over Mother's Day push. Shadow has without fail done a conquest for mother's day and then... Fire showed up in domwatch again with a conquest planned for the same date. The fire orgs claimed they did not know about Shadow's annual push — which is funny when you consider the SvF fiasco from years ago. So Shadow had to know about their NOTN push, but they didn't have to know about Shadow's Mother's Day push — which simply sounds like a shit excuse. They did back down, however, and just did their push at another date, so there was no SvF 2.
lmao there can't be tea where there isn't a dom effort havent gotten any pings for prep for ff other than for fodderart. don't be surprised if it is just a buy thread with low, low, low prices. i think the aa is going to treat ff like a profit push with a fodder art and then throw shade if they can't get on top of earth, plague, light, lightning, water, ice or whoever else is up against them. I feel like plague is trying to get double dom JUST to make sure they don't get dom next week. Earth/light/plague/lightning are always just existing at the top so I would bet that the AA says 'oh no we need to blitz hard to get on top of earth/light/plague/lightning! they're pushing just to be a jerk!'

... no, plague wanted to do a double dom push just to see if we could, coincidentally it happened to be close to fire's fest push because it was one of the only few available weeks at the time it was booked, iirc. that was the weirdest take I've seen about our double dom push so far lol
I think it's more that Fire is just not prepared enough to fight any of the regular exalting flights for dom. Last time they did an organized push, they lost to Earth/Light and Lightning who were just doing the usual exalting. I left fire after that. I NEED discounts to expand my lair.

AA seemed interested in having new things and wanted to do a more active Dom but apparently couldn't get it going.
When it comes to the banksheet, they honestly thought that all flights had the sheet hidden. But after asking other flights they decided they would be more "transparent" but instead of just making the sheet open to the public right away they took quite a long time to make it _partially_ open to anyone.
When it comes to the discord toxicity: Yeah there's been a lot of issues with the first fire server. There was a reason someone actually started a NEW and ONLY FIRE discord server.
fuck! the old discord was bad! There was a lot of crap that was rug swept. art theft, harassment about g1's, XXX art in the non XXX thread, ppl being told to kill themselves, jokes about someone getting r'ed, users who should have been banned never getting banned, people oversharing in the vents thread, the certain users trying to relate anything to politics to pick a fight was the worst for me. someone posted about the new hatchlings they had and this user would pop in and be like it sucks that fr doesn't have an abortion scroll or button in case you didn't want those dragons hated them so much
the fire only discord is really different though it is a bit quieter but it also feels like a very safe place. mods (multiple mods too) are active and respond quickly. the dm's of the mods are open too which is really nice? like I enjoy being able to reach out to them. ALL the mods are active in the new server not like the old one where 8 people can ping the same and not get any sort of response for 2+ days.
in the old one we sort of self mod where we ran the one who made the r'ed jokes out of the server. need more of the new mods energy in dom too
it was super funny though. new fire only server made to make a safe place for everything, dragon sharing/lore shares, whatever. no one on the aa with the bank funds joined the new server. none of us know the drama that tipped the mods of the new server over an edge but they tipped and i love them for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
glad i will be back at school for FF though the ping for raffle attendants went out earlier today. we haven't had any organized effort to store leveled fodder and the aa is treating it like a profit push like we do EVERY festival. i have 25 spots but i can grind a lot...but i have no where to put the dragons.
by "XXX" do you mean triple dragons or sex.... because if youre saying the official fire flight discord had a dedicated porn thread, all i can say is lol
The new Fire Server legit saved Fire from being the worst flight for me. Mods that are active, that care, that talk to their flight, and make the effort to keep everyone updated on events - in and out of flight. The mods in the new server have really made it a wonderful place.
To compare to the old Fire server, there was one player that gifted me a rather expensive item that I never asked for and never wanted. They said, they told me, I could sell it for something else I wanted. This was done publicly on the server. I sold the item in order to obtain something I did want and proceeded to be dragged through the mud both in DMs and in the server for "breaking the trust" of this player.
I bit my tongue about it so as not to cause drama for months until I found out this player was doing this to others as well. So I sent the screenshots of the evidence to hopefully get this player removed from the server. The Dom Lead, who doubles as our ONLY active mod in the old server, decided that the screenshots of evidence were not solid enough to give them the boot. Our Dom Lead didn't care that this was an issue, that there were screenshots from within the server of me going through this. It took our only other mod (who is primarily inactive) to kick that player out.
This is just one example of how little our Dom Lead cares about their own Flight. The Anon above me hits more of what else the lead just conveniently ignores. I'll say, if our Lead is busy with real life, own up to that and step down to let someone else take the reigns. There are still minors who play this game and if you cannot be responsible for properly moderating a server, you should not have that position of power. For Heaven's sake, a player joked to a pregnant player about they should lose their baby. What happened? The FLIGHT- the player base- had to step in with that mess.
Fire Dom has so many problems and it starts from the top.
i kinda want to know what the end result of said oversharing was, but i wouldn't be surprised if nothing actually happened because the people with moderation powers are never around.
I've been on semi-hiatus from FR for a while, so I haven't regularly posted in the Fire discord in years... it's disheartening to come back to see it like this. Not saying it was perfect, before, but I think time made it clearer.
