Background:
There's someone looking to sell codes for all 4 KS chests, plus two imp scrolls that are currently codes. MissFemke (MF) made thread a for this person, who had never made an account, to get offers and info on how to go about selling them.

The seller is only interested in Closed Species designs (CS). They are interested in quality and quantity over equivalent monetary value.

Drama:
After a lot of pages and several people sharing their collections... the thread got deleted. Not by MF, by a mod (or more likely staff, since I think they're the only ones who can delete and people often confused the two). According to MF's profile,
Thread got taken down since it involves characters holding value
They are currently in discussion to try and sort this out.

Rules:
There are two existing rules that have relevance here.
One is no RMT-with-middleman trading, where the example is buying a commission slot specifically to trade the result for FR stuff.
The other is 'no trading for things with RMT value'

The Issue:
The seller wanted premade designs only. The deletion is saying that the kind of art they're after is still worth a concrete USD value even after being created.

If this is upheld... CS trades and sales are far from unknown on FR. Does this mean they will be banned in the future? If dragon art is bought for USD and the dragon is later sold with that art, is that the same thing? If not, why not? What will the seller do with their scrolls and codes if they can't trade for what they want?

Alternatively, staff go 'whoops my bad' and the whole issue poofs lmao.

It's true that we don't have definitive proof that that was why it was deleted, but it's reasonable in this case to assume that's what's going on until otherwise proven.

No need for the attitude when you could have included those links in the first place- or waited to post when you had more details, just saying.

Fair, I definitely overreacted.
I'd still appreciate it if people don't accuse me of saying things that aren't in the post - it definitely doesn't say there's a new rule and I went out my way to compare what's happened to the actual existing rules! I'd assumed the thread was more widely known than it actually seems to be.

No worries! The rule for deets has been around since the beginning- even the old AR had it (in a sense) but the archive rule is only a few months old, so that's fair, too.

Can’t you sell closed species for money? That’s what makes it shady. People who think this affects other pet sites are panicking

I think it's been a few years, but I think once Staff addressed the CS trade stuff? I remember it coming up in conversation with people who had traded CS for FR in the past. I would need to look for it pretty hard though

Considering it's Closed Species, I'm not surprised the board was closed. We're talking about characters that would have to at least be worth $1000 or more (or lower, depending on whether the seller really gets site pricing), so I wouldn't be surprised if a shady deal happened behind the scenes.

I had to what a Closed Species is up. Sigh. Oh, to be a furry and to have been one long enough to have the accrued value to be able to trade for an imp scroll~
