Damn FR’s really just crumbling into a bigger and bigger shitshow huh.

God I fucking hate this. I wish I knew a better game to be invested in but I don’t and I don’t want to leave because it’s been a part of my life for so long but holy fucking shit the staff is garbage. And there’s no fucking way they’re gonna do shit to improve, is there? Shit’s just gonna get more and more bullshit the longer we go and they're never going to get their shit together.

I’m fucking tired of this. If anyone has any good petsite suggestions (other than dappervolk, that one’s kind of a shitshow too, just less blatantly) I’d love to hear them. I’m currently on ChickenSmoothie but it’s not bringing the same feelings as FR.

i don't feel like FR has changed much over the past so many years. maybe i'm out of the loop or missing some cues, but i am not aware of how the site or staff has gotten worse - what's gotten bad about it? (genuine question! i haven't seen anything going on with staff aside from announcements)

Me neither, to be honest. If anything, they've gotten better at adapting to what the userbase wants and rectifying mistakes when they misjudge the reception to new things.

Considering the timing, my bet is this related to the skin rule change.

To be honest, nothing has changed on the whole. Site is still lively and going strong.

And if anything, I think the staff communication is improving. Some folks just don't like the answers or expect them to let threads that are bickering stick around.

Can't really suggest games if you're not going to say what you want out of the site both what is there and what isn't. There's not really a lot of up and coming pet games partly because of how this new generation of net users are using things on the internet almost solely through apps and hard to get a browser petsite off the ground as an app first instead of just making an actual game.

You've not really been clear about your issues either.

What exactly is FlightRising's big problem? It's always been a site I've enjoyed, but after items stopped retiring, I just.. kind of got bored. I'm guessing that's not the main issue with people, though

honestly I think the community is really toxic and the staff apathetic at best, I can't bring myself to enjoy a game where it feels like either people don't care or they care *too* much

Even sticking to the site, the toxicity spills over. It’s easy to tell when some chat clique finds a target, they descend in a predictable pattern.

OP, I've seen a lot of this type of feeling in every petsite. Your anger will get you nowhere. The petsite will never be what you hope it's gonna be. It's always gonna be run by a too-small staff and will always have people who take it too seriously and act shitty. Cut back on your online time, play only when it makes you happy, learn to step back and let go of the outcomes. If you can't release these feelings it will become a self-fulfilling prophecy and you'll have to quit in anger. So start dialing back expectations now- it's never gonna be online utopia. With petsites, what you see is what you get. Curate your own experiences with it and stop holding them to the imaginary perfect standard, for your own sanity.
