Is it just me or is this raffle shady? First of all, hasn't OreoMilkshake mentioned being in college since way back when the game started? If so, she should have graduated by now. Also the prizes are kind of crummy. It seems like a cheap way to fish for compliments imo

There's a lot of university programs that take longer than 4 years to graduate from. Especially if you go into graduate school. Or have to take a break because of the whole pandemic or life in general. Or even just take the classes slowly because of money. It's super shitty to mock someone for not graduating in 4 years.

NAYRT
if you take a major alongside/after an undergrad, doesn't it take about that much? in my country getting a major can take like, 10 years so it's not that wild of a possibility for me lmao

I don't think that's enough to call a raffle shady anon, sorry OP

props to them for finally graduating! i'm guessing you haven't, or you wouldn't be surprised to hear it took 9 years to graduate. i started college over 9 yrs ago and still haven't graduated, and i know folks older than me who are still working on their degrees.

higher education ain't cheap, and it can have a lot of stops & starts as you get older and have to balance work, life, family, AND school. and that can be further complicated by mental or physical health issues. you might even need/want to get an entirely different degree when you're already several years into your current degree.

economic/political upheaval can also knock you off track as the effects ripple out. and like the AYRT mentioned: we're like 2.5 years into a pandemic that's disrupted fucking... everything. they might've just needed a fucking break.

the raffle isn't shady, but OP kinda is for their weirdly judgemental comment. let them "fish for compliments" lol they deserve it

I was a STEM major with a foreign language as my minor and if I hadn't dropped out at year 4 due to lack of money it would've taken me 8 years total. That's if I didn't need to retake any classes. Or if any of classes were only available during a certain season.

on top of what everyone else is saying, not everyone is a full-time student. I know a couple people at work who attended night school for up to 10 years while working full time in order to get a degree related to business or finance. I've known more who had to drop out for financial reasons and were saving up to go back.

Bro.... My major would have taken me 10 years to get full qualifications in (PhD) if I hadn't had my ass kicked by illness (Ironic, given my major was Virology)

That being said, the major doesn't matter- maybe RL made them put their education on hold, and what that happens, it's REALLY hard to get back in because the schedule and routine is hard to get back into, or it's hard to get loans figured out.

So what if it took nine years for a Bachelor's or a four year program? It's still worth celebrating, given how SHITTY the world is right now.

I knew people in college who were ungraduated after 11 years. Risky because some schools will say your credits expire after 10 years, but not all.

I've been in college for over 4 years due to bad mental health semesters and general troubles, just because someone hasn't graduated yet doesn't make them instantly shady.

sorry OP, but taking a while to get your degree isn't enough grounds to become shady. Besides it's just a small giveaway raffle, those happen all the time of varying rarity of prizes and don't see the big whoop :(

FWIW: I'm taking about 10 years for my degree because it's a STEM class with lots of labs and between covid, my dad dying of cancer, and me bouncing back and forth with a 9-5 job and being a part time student..I just dont see the big deal

... You are complaining and calling a free raffle shady and complaining about the prizes not being good enough. It's free.

Honestly, going with you have something against the player right now, seeing as you aren't doing this about the tons of other mediocre free raffles going

does it matter if a giveaway is fishing for attention vs. genuine cheer-spreading? I don't want to assume anything in this raffle, but let's say it is for attention. they get attention/congrats, winners get free stuff, it's a win-win situation.

DA
In my country, bachelor degree - 4 years, master degree - 2, phd - 4 years. That's 10 years in university even without any gaps for health, children or any other reason.

I don't care about the time schooling takes or whatever, I'm just over here feeling superior because Oreo is supposedly rich but I gave away more than that during my last festival event. Makes me feel like I'm winning lmao

this is the kind of pettiness that goes over way better when you gossip about it 1-on-1 with a friend than post about it in a public forum
