Thoughts? I love them as they are like Mirrors (my fav breed) crossed with f-SD (one of the best poses) - and yet I am once again reminded that I absolutely hate that ancients cannot wear apparel.
I need a MILLION of them. They are officially my fav new breed, and I am slightly crying because I JUST spent close to 7kg on geneing up a G1, and she looks 100000% better as an Abberation.
I was expecting to be kinda meh about them, but I am really liking them (esp female pose)! And the terts are just *chef kiss*
My only slight compliant is that I am surprised they didn’t launch with stained and underbelly - after we got them for all the others I just assumed it was going to be default for all ancients now lol.
They're fun; I'm not interested in having one at the moment, but maybe eventually.
Gene notes, however:
1. Another ancient with no Stained despite that flying utterly in the face of the 'give the users as much content as possible while not overworking the artists' rationale. Drink!
2. Another batch of interesting prim/sec/non-linebreaking-tert genes that we will in all probability never have the chance to see on moderns. Drink! (I'm still bitter that the only chance we've ever had for such porting was Breakup/Mosaic, aka pretty much the ugliest ancient gene pair of the lot (imo of course, but I think population counts are supporting of said opinion) and the closest thing to a conspiracy theory I've ever had about this site it still 'the devs picked said pair on purpose so almost no one would use it and they could just shrug and go 'I guess no one cares about ancient genes on moderns after all'.)
3. Interesting and probably wise handling of Ground/Fissure, I was wondering how that was going to work when I saw them in the lineup. (Neither adding more plots to Thunder Lizards at this point nor a completely different acquisition method likely would have gone over well.) Although I still think that a separate mechanic for converting parallel gene scrolls to/from ancient ones (for appropriate cost of course) would have been helpful at the start of all this; would have spared a lot of redundant brews/swaps getting added as well as helped out with frustrating 'accidentally bought the wrong gene from the MP' situations.
- I get that they're supposed to be off-kilter, but I still don't love the eye count differing between the heads.
- If you were putting off doing your dailies in case the new breed was launched as part of an event (with attendant loot bonuses), here's your reminder to go do it now.
- I'm happy for Plague that they've got extra motivation for the battle next week. (Yeah, we'd still benefit in Nature if we win for profit reasons, but the liklihood of Plaguelings wanting breed/gene scrolls at discount for personal use is a lot higher.) I'm still not going to hold back, but I'll be less disappointed if we lose given what perfect timing it would be for them.
- As someone who invested in way more Noc eggs this year than ever before, anything that motivates more hatching is good news in my book.
- Lol @ the AH breaking like the battle's come early, although it does make figuring out what to list certain things for inconvenient.
Oh I really like these! I'm not usually big on ancients because no dressup but the poses have such personality. Their genes are really interesting too, very much hoping we get modern equivalents for some of them.
I love them so much. The male pose in particular is fun! I don't love that the breed changes were clan locked, but it was pretty easy to get around. Grab some cute doubles off the AH for cheap, scry up some cool combos for them, slap them in the bios, breed change, and sell for profit. Gonna have to get myself some more once they're cheaper and I've figured out what I actually want! The Fangs gene is awesome.
I am absolutely THRIVING for the hatchling pose, absolute gremlin energy they got going on. I think the hatchies have actually conquered my love of bogsneak hatchies
