anyone got solid guidelines on what you can get away with on tinting lineart/shadows? i had a friend with super cool skin/accent in trickmurk that didnt make it to winning circle and im pretty sure it's because it was rulebreaking on that front but i don't have evidence to show my friend

(yes yes could be other reasons too but there was big interest so he's gonna print it and I dont want him being hit with rejection right out the skin queue you know?)

Staff doesn't consider lines and shadows for fest entries as long as you've made an effort. Proof here.

Your friend will be shit out of luck if they're submitting to queue though since staff doesnt edit that for you.

that's interesting I had no idea! Thank you for digging this up! that said even that example is... a lot more dark on lines/shadows to start than his

I'll make sure he edits before setting up anything

No problem. Could you point out which entry is his in the submission thread so we can see what we're working with here?

I appreciate the help but I'm not comfortable doing that on his behalf, thank you for offering though!

Being rejected for lines/shadows isn't that bad, either -- both skin mods are highly communicative. You'll lose a week which is annoying but it's definitely not a big deal, happens to even really good/experienced skin artists
