it isn't too complicated, but imo it's also kind of poorly explained (especially within the feature itself)

yeah, i felt dread reading the explanation but turns out they were making it out to be more complex than it is

It's not that complicated:

-Pickaxe: Remove five tiles at random (from any plots)
-Magnifying glass: Removes one tile at random from the plot of your choice

Most of those games aren't, either - they're just super slow and random, with a lot of words to explain a dull and simple concept.
