I'm proud of you too! I think it's super cool to take that plunge and try new things, and learn new things in the process? if that makes sense
I have a 3DS I'm not really using anymore... What can you do on it now that you couldn't before? (idk much about video game systems)
I could see that coming, gore vs excessive could only ever be evaluated on a case by case basis so it was going to slow things down.

Dude I WISH the dressing room had made it obsolete, but having to save/overwrite a new scry for every single gene/colour change you make and then throw it into the dressing room is so unbelievably tedious that VM's copy-paste site was infinitely better in every way.
I used the top right option the most. Too bad there's nothing quite like it out there. frtools is great but only works for newer skins unfortunately.

"I'm pretty sure it's poor form to refer to someone AS ESL" Hi anon, I'm ESL and have literally never met anyone who has had an issue w/ the phrasing - this borderline sounds like the 'don't say disabled people say people with disabilities uwu' argument with how stupid it is
I did this myself a few years ago and thought it was a really cool and fun process. Good job OP!

You can install unofficial skins made by other users (or make your own), and ofc you can pirate/emulate any game you want in the GBA/DS/DSi/3DS line. There's other stuff too but that's the main pull for most people. With the eshop shutting down soon, this would become your only way to get new games unless you only buy physical copies.

That's cool you feel that way but I've had non native English speakers I know personally tell me so. So I'll take their words over yours, with all due respect.

I'm glad to see this. Only thing I'm worried about now is that certain artists will get a really big head about how the revolution succeeded and whatever, but that's pretty minor all things considered. I think this is a solid win for FR as a whole.
i’m late to the party but... this is just a boycott, lol. which is fair enough, i guess, but you literally can’t go on strike if you don’t work for the company you’re protesting.
"In order to streamline the approval process and remove any confusion about the line between some gore and excessive gore, we have come to the decision to prohibit gore-focused skins altogether."

I don't think they see it as a win from the fireworks.
They wanted the rules loosened, not the loopholes filled.

My partner is a teacher, and they want to get their administration degree so they can be a principal instead, because teaching is so thankless- but they could NEVER leave.
They're a nonbinary teacher with ADHD who CONSTANTLY fights for kids with IEP/504's, makes sure that trans kids feel comfortable/are gendered properly, has coded roll call spreadsheets so kids can check in without seeing deadnames (but the teachers can see exactly which student is checking in, in case they forget), and educate their colleagues on how to better treat LGBTQIA kids and kids with educational needs.
They want to be a principal so they can take care of a larger scope of students instead of just their classes, and to enact more school-wide policies to protect kids that need it.
But they are always so. SO. Exhausted at the end of the day. It really takes its toll- but they never take it out on the kids. It's not the kids' fault, it's the system.

Yeah, most of the loudest loud-mouths don't see this as a win. They have stricter rules to deal with now. Despite saying they wanted clearer guidelines, what they really wanted was looser rules.
Oh wow, thanks! That's great to know.
Imagine being like "oh the staff responded, the strike worked!!!"
First of all, the staff responded by further tightening one rule on gore and reiterating everything else like a broken record player, they didn't do shit. Are people so desperate for attention from staff that even negative attention will do??

They got the kind of guidelines they hated and whined over written out and made less flexible. Great work guys.
A lot of teachers seem to really dislike their kids though. Don’t you find that disturbing?

I do, absolutely, and it worries me because I do think some teachers take the job to have control over kids because they genuinely dislike, even hate kids.
I had a teacher who literally told us "I hate kids, I only took this job because I couldn't get a job as a college professor."
He lost his job that year, but the point remains- some teachers take the job because they hate kids, or because they want to teach, but the age range they wanted isn't available.
It legit needs to be addressed.

because teaching is in most places a shit job that doesn't pay well, you don't attract the best talent who wants to be teachers. i went to a "good university" and no one i knew was considering being a teacher even if they'd otherwise enjoy the job simply bc the pay sucked and there's way too much oversight and paperwork (from lots of sources including admins). it's not even like it used to be when millennials were in grade school.

To be honest, I am in no way surprised about this outcome. If people push the rules, then those rules will be tightened.
As has been said about some of the skins being used as examples, the reasons the skins were rejected were KNOWN reasons for rejecting skins, yet people still tried to get them through the queue and then got salty when they were rejected.

How good of a university did you go to? I also went to a good university that’s supposed to have the best teaching program in the US
Thank you! I was super worried about bricking it, and then I realized that I wasn't really using it anyway, so why not give it a shot? :D
Thank you! I don't think I'm going to be like, jailbreaking my switch any time soon - but I might see about picking up some 2nd hand (read: cheap) game systems and messing around with them. :D
