But considering the agreements they have to keep costs down, it wouldn't be hard to throw 5-10 smallish boarder only prizes to give incentive. You lose out on boarders because it's better to fill those slots with fodder to sell to the flights. Unless they are offering more tickets to board than a leveled adult is worth.

Also, can't wait to see the drama when someone in one of the flight starts hiring mercs with personal funds. Because no terms can stop that.

I feel like the "no mercs" rule only covers their dom banks hiring mercs, since like you said it's impossible to stop people from privately hiring mercs with their personal funds anyway.

Oh, my pettiness is that they're saying they're offering OOF Raffle tickets **instead** of Boarder Raffle prizes, as though it's not been the done thing to offer Boarders both OOF Raffle tickets and a Boarder exclusive (if smaller) Raffle.
Like, with capping both prizes and prices, one should think (as another anon put it) that they'd have the funds to spare to mock up a thing for the boarders. Don't forget -- they want **us** to help them out. We have absolutely 0 incentive from the get-go to offer out our spaces to the battling flights. If anything, this makes me hope that someone from the flights will hire private mercs. Ordinarily, I'd also wait for someone to hire private mercs for top sender prizes/top 0t-dragons, but with the prize caps I somehow doubt they can incentivize this as much as some other, past raffles have done.

Don't forget that OOF participation incentives oftentimes are as much to keep smaller flights from overtaking the battling flights as it is to beat the opponent.

But who knows, maybe more-restrictive battles will be enough to have a powerhouse like Earth or Water or Light swoop in with higher incentives to upset the battle. I'd be rooting for whoever does that because that sounds like such an amazing salt fest :D

yeah i'm going to use all my spaces for my own fodder. i always find boarding instructions and sheets confusing as well.

No one is going to swoop into steal the battle, unless they make a poor enough showing that the Earth and Water profit exalters don't bother and just exalt to their own diety and take it by accident.

It's not going to work. My bet is that it's just going to push the burden of the costs of dom onto the individual players instead of the flight again, which is shittier.

This battle honestly looks more like one of those prearranged multiple flight pushes than a real battle.

As long as they actually hit those points. Just because they have caps doesn't mean they'll reach them, if they're focused on saving money.

Other flights have had similar battle terms in the past where mercing wasn't allowed or there were caps on prizes or payouts. None of this is new, it's just that dom battles are so few and far between now that no one remembers. Not every flight has a bunch of kickstarter shit just sitting around in their dom banks so that three people can go nuts sending low level dragons to try and get them.

With 25kg prize limit we take out Akirbeaks (but there is still one in Nature's raffle preview? So I suppose there is some agreement there), Light Sprites, Sunchasers, and KS items. Am I forgetting anything?

This is not very restricting compared to what we've seen recently, I don't think Earth had any of that in their WvE raffle.

The price cap is definitely more restricting than the prize limits, but let's be real, lots of us are filling up our hibdens with dragons we bought at 5-6kt anyway so it's not like we're losing money when we only make a 10kt profit off each instead of 13kt. Boo hoo LOL

100%. if there's no mercs then rich players buy mercs—the only difference is that it's not an official strategy paid for by the bank. caps on prizes don't necessarily ensure the raffles are equal (eg: ice had a significantly better raffle than shadow). you might as well be open about the fact that it's going to be expensive and you are trying to use your given resources in the best possible way to win. even with mercs a lot of strategy is involved. it's a bummer that battles are so expensive and draining, but that's more a function of increasing hibden spaces than anything.

Because waiting on raffle/buy attendants costs me time. That's why I rarely bother unless there's a massive difference. If I can level and yeet multiple fodder in the time it takes to go find an attendant list, find an attendant, and wait for them to pick up...

Dude, that is not the whole point of a battle. A flight does not have an obligation to line the pockets of OOF members. Yes, it is smart and necessary to entice OOF members to participate. But there is no rule saying that OOF people are owed insane payouts or kickstarter raffle items. Plenty of people will send dragons for any amount above a normal payout. And plenty of people will enter raffles where they are getting a chance at a prize while making a profit.

I find it interesting that everyone is judging the OOF raffles before they've even seen them. Just because they don't plan on having Light Sprites, doesn't mean that the raffles won't be worthwhile. Last time I checked 25kg wasn't pocket change. There's really nothing to lose if you are leveling fodder anyway. You'll still be making a higher than usual profit and will have a chance to win prizes during a week that wouldn't usually have them. Why all the bitching?

Didn't Nature and Plague (it was Plague vs something for sure) already have an 'internal battle' several years ago? I'm pretty sure that then the fodder floor was back at the usual price by Wednesday and there were no flips at all.

I just pick people who I know are dom orgs/experienced attendants/heavy exalters and I've not really had issues. They get picked up in like 5 minutes or less usually.
