this also makes ado's new announcement on their thread make so much more sense. I know Museum has ripped them off multiple times now and iirc there've been a few other users that have done their own 'version' of a skin after a 2-print by ado comes out.

honestly, don't know why Museum even bothers doing that since it seems like they're able to draw? Like just... why waste it on copying or stealing someone's stuff unless you get off on being called out?

In coding it means you're improving how well something does what it does without changing any of the functionality, or what and how it does things.

What they're basically saying is they want to update the areas of the site where it is still www instead of www1 and instead of refining those areas and adding anything or changing anything, just simply doing whatever needs to be done to move them over to www1 and nothing else.

This means putting off revamps of those areas like dom board and the nesting grounds and gathering until after this is done which I agree with them is a better way to do it. Instead of coding new features twice for those areas they would do it once.

h a h, nah that's fairly obvious given their history with this stuff, I'd definitely say it's a copy since they've pulled this stuff before. Good on ado for speaking up but also oof at museum trying to pull the 'I'm being attacked and I don't like it' card.

I've known to avoid them beforehand, despite how pretty their skins have looked and how much I love their aesthetic, but now I'm just going to outright block them. Oof. I'd thought that they'd learned.

It's not about the skins concept, it's about Museum copying ado

Honestly I don't even like ado for other reasons but this is pretty clear stylistic copying. Again, it's not about the skin concept, but also the copying of technique; the way the jewelry drapes and wings fold and how lines and shading are done. A billion people have done wings, roses, eyes and jewelry for their accents, but Museum doesn't seem to have this flat/minimally shaded, uniform-line style for any of their other art (and they're literally an art student!). They're blatantly ripping off so many small details to the point where it isn't about the overarching concept, but the original ideas that ado has about those concepts—eye halos, eye markings on the wing tips, flower leaves that "float" and aren't attached to the flower, vertically hanging vine jewelry, even the way smoke is done. It's like taking a sentence straight from a book, not just ripping off the plot or characters. But anybody with eyes should be able to see that the copy is a pale version of the original, which is sad, because Museum clearly has great artistic skill in their own style.

I swear if people didn't see skins and accents as a "product" instead of a similar medium to freeform art this kind of copying wouldn't get defended so much.

The moon, night sky, dark head w/cyan accents and silver jewelry especially. The feathers resemble Reisiger's accent somewhat but they could be entirely chalked up to coincidence too.

Museum changed their UN to Alanas and the auction thread completely disappeared, hope someone is feeling bad since ado has posted they want to step back from skins for a while.

People like you are the reasons FR skin artists quit when people begin copying them. "You can't corner an art concept" literally everyone knows that. There's multiple ways ado's designs could have been mimicked without it being a blatant copy. But if you have eyes and can see, the resemblance is way too similar. Try to understand from the artists' perspective, just a little bit.
