BINGO

Since this post will be current until January, thought I'd be salty/have fun with it. Let's see if we get Bingo, shall we?

does owning a light sprite make you part of the dragon 1%: Yes or no

(Anonymous) 2022-01-07 05:36 pm (UTC)(link)
yes! it does

now, does it make you part of the 1% of the active playerbase that didnt just leave after making progens and actively participates in the economy? Dunno. Top 5% though at least.

Now? ....maybe, i suppose. Though i'd say what makes you really part of the 1% is either of these- owning a light sprite, owning mulitples (ie: more than 1, but less than say...4 bc imo anything more than that and you're uber 1%) of them, owning A (meaning just one) light sprite and GBF/GC (either or), or owning a light sprite and a GC and having the GC be your pfp.
To ME, those indicate that you have considerably more wealth, whether liquid or capital (capital is items yeah?) than a loooot of the playerbase, even the ones that would be considered middle to upper middle class players.

Being the 1% of the 1% (again, this what it means to me) - having a LS (or more of them) plus all of the following*- GBF, Frog, Golden Idol, Bool, Bone Fiend, Gilded and having an imp scroll. Whether or not you use said scroll doesn't matter, what matters is that you have one and multiple people know you have one. Oh and sort of included but not as neccesary a requirement in my mind is that you also are known for/can be seen and or have done- dropping a ton of $ for gems to buy doubles and triple g1's.

*you can have all of these at one time, or you can have some currently but have had some previously, but what equals "uber wealthy" to me is - has some, has had some previously and is still able to afford the ones they don't have anymore if they want them again easily.

SA oh oops i just saw op asked yes or no lol. sorry i got a bit carried away. in that case i'd say yes.

(Anonymous) 2022-01-08 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
what is a GC?

(Anonymous) 2022-01-08 02:14 pm (UTC)(link)
i think it might be Gilded Crown in this context

(Anonymous) 2022-01-08 01:57 pm (UTC)(link)
the 1% of 1% definitely makes sense- i'd say boolean rather than imp scroll also qualifies, as does ks item duplicates. I've seen a couple people who qualify but way, WAY less than people with light sprites

(Anonymous) 2022-01-07 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
no it puts you in the top 10-15%. light sprites are easily achievable

+1

Agreed

this

(Anonymous) 2022-01-08 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
while they may be easily achievable i think you're underestimating how many people don't care to ever save up enough money to reach that goal. from what i can tell talking to people a lot of people never bother to save more than like 5kg

(Anonymous) 2022-01-09 02:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Most of those have HAD enough money to get a LS though, they just spend it on different things. It's one thing to say "Oh only the 1% could ever accrue enough money to get this item" it's another to say "You're the 1% because I buy skincents and art rather than saving for a LS"

It took me almost exactly a year of FTP moneymaking to buy a LS. I don't think that makes me the 1% in a 8 year old game.

(Anonymous) 2022-01-08 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
I would say yes or at least top 5% even if like me you managed to buy one for 3.2 million treasure in 2014.

(Anonymous) 2022-01-08 06:45 am (UTC)(link)
i think it depends a bit on when you purchased it. for example, i got mine back when they were ~500kt and it feels weird ascribing myself to even the dragon 15% lmao

(Anonymous) 2022-01-08 09:00 am (UTC)(link)
If a friend gives you one when they stop playing, does that make you a trust fund baby?

(Anonymous) 2022-01-08 10:44 am (UTC)(link)
One 65kg purchase is less of a "1%-er" thing than routinely gene-ing/dressing/accent-ing expensive dragons imo.

(Anonymous) 2022-01-11 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
On its own? No.

I mean, it depends on how much else you own while having a light sprite at the same time.

I think kickstarter fams are more of a 1% thing. I used to want a skycat, but I think I can forget about that now, it'll never happen
