I think the vista is cute, but (get ready for the nittiest of nitpicks) the corgi on the vista doesn’t look exactly right to me. It feels like some proportion is off (probably the paws?). The corgi familiars bother me in a similar way. I always felt they were a little like, stiff feeling?
At the end of the day tho they still get across that they’re supposed to be are corgis tho, which is what matters most.

which is hilarious because Undel HAS a corgi. So I'm guessing she didn't draw this.

the shadows of the hips make the "buttcheeks" of the corgi super pronounced, where if you look at actual corgis splooting there really shouldn't be a shadow differentiating between the trunk of the body to the legs so harshly to make that illusion

or maybe it's just me lol

I went and painted over the parts that I think was giving me pause, in the end it was mostly the thickness of the paws and a bit of the expression.

batcrooks went "kinda weird bedroom eyes pose :/" and for some reason this is enough that like 10 people need to quote it and go "what the fuck is wrong with you"

I, for one, have started reporting and blocking everyone who is piling up on BatCrooks. I started with Ossium who insinuated that BatCrooks is into animals - it's one more point on how some people do not know how to separate fiction from reality when a comment on a weird art choice gets turned into outright support of bestiality.

i do have some thoughts on that whole "fiction\reality" debacle we have nowadays but I guess my general, uh, distaste with FRs userbase goes into that. it feels like it's mentally aging down for long now, going right into that kind of demographic. i feel like I could write an essay about this shit.

I think people who don't see anything wrong with it hear that others find it gross and feel like it's an attack on them. So then they turn what they feel they're being accused of (being okay with zoophilia) back around because of course they aren't okaying zoophilia, you must be a sicko to even think about that stuff!

Meanwhile I'm just annoyed with someone else there, who made a rude, unneeded comment calling the update "useless" and then practically called the updates "trash" and the staff (or the update itself/recent updates, comment could go either way or both) "lazy" in a reply to someone else.

Just wonder why people who are obviously not enjoying the game very much still play and why they feel the need to make comments like that.

Community is made up of the people FR is inviting, so considering FR's main source of advertisement still seems to be on Tumblr and Twitter, you get what you ask for, in this case, some sort of unholy combination of sheltered/over-protected youths brought up in purity & call-out culture...

it mightve gone to shit in 2014 then :x i just feel like there has like, always been arguments about petty shit? like i don't remember a time when there wasn't at least one person pitching a fit over some small things in the updates and people on this anoncomm or DR complaining about that person (the thing that jumps to mind is the Great Trypophobia Wars from like. idk 2016 or something). i guess maybe there are more now?
i took a break from the forums and stuff around the time of open reg so i can't really speak to the direct culture shift; i do feel like its a fair assumption that open reg has the potential to allow in more jerks, since you don't need to be committed to the site per se to make an account now. on the other hand i feel like theres a pretty equal amount of whining from old farts like us who remember the Good Ol Days when the site was Fun and Shiny and New yknow

I think that more people are active and more players are joining because of the pandemic. People have more free time and need to stay inside, so games are an obvious option. This does mean there are more people with wayyyy too much free time getting mad at inconsequential shit, though. The turnaround time for new drama has been shortened significantly lately, IMO.
