I do love the apparel, and the new scene. It looks like FR is having a bit of a "horse girl" phase right now, though (the familiar is pretty).
I know effects are not that popular, but I was kind of hoping for elemental effects this year. Floating light orbs, flickering flames, that kind of thing. Even if they were gem releases and either cycled in like the gene parchments, or were released at each holiday but stayed in the marketplace year round.
I dunno, I just feel like effects were so loudly denounced on the forums that the staff lost all joy in them, and we won't see them effectively used in future.

i worry about this too :( i think people were really harsh on the effects and couldn't look past "well /I/ don't like /these/ effects so what's the point!" rather than looking forward to what other effects might be released. fr players tend to do this in general though when things are released that they don't personally like/enjoy, which is disappointing
They did say ahead of time what the new stuff would be this year and it didn't include effects. Hopefully in the future? Maybe next year we'll get elemental effects, once they've had some time to develop the idea more. The ones they did for April Fools were well received for the most part.
