Okay I'm so sick of G1 sellers covering up their scries in skins + apparel that hide most of the dragon anyways. I don't even know what genes you're trying to show off!!! Anyone can slap a birdskull headdress+antlers+UMA to literally any dragon to make it look "appealing". I wanna know why you think this XYZ is worth 300g before I start offering fodder prices. Skins are RIGHT OUT!!!!
wtf scries for dragons you're trying to sell should never have skins/apparel unless you're selling a "complete" dragon that will come with those items???
seriously if you cannot find one half decent scry for a dragon out of the thousands of options that are now available without having to hide it under apparel or skins you need to take the L and throw that thing out for fodder price or yeet it yourself.
you cannot make egg costs back on every G1 that's why it's a gamble.
Guess my opinion is unpopular because I love seeing g1s with scries + outfits and umas (sometimes that's what get's me to buy a dragon too). A lot of the g1 community dress their dragons with umas too from what I've seen so it only makes sense that people use that as a selling point for their dragons. You're always free to scry the dragon yourself to see if you think it's a combo that's pretty without the outfit, no one can make you use the scries or outfits the seller comes up with
Also I beg to differ an uma can make any dragon "appealing". There are some absolute god awful combinations out there that just cannot be saved imo. No amount of pretty art over the top of vomit would make the vomit appealing
Yeah and that's fine, charm is subjective tho so your version of charm and mine or even OP's could vary drastically. Which is why I still think it's fine for people to sell their dragons with dolled up scries even if it might not be appealing to everyone. There's a crowd for that sort of charm and sometimes those uma scries are what compels people to buy the dragon (just not everyone clearly or this salt wouldn't exist lol)
Have you not seen the wardobes that people pile on top of dragons on top of the skins, making the entire dragon hidden? So many players have less than 5% of their dragons visible.
SA cuz I wanted to bitch some more. I also hate it when someone tries to sell a dragon on the basis that they're a 10-20 colours off-double, especially if they're not even matchy. That's an XYZ babe!!!
Ik it’s predominantly a (somewhat annoying) way of getting eyes on the sale / auction but it’s additionally funny to me because there are XYZ combos that are hundreds of times more desirable and sought after than some terrible doubles
Like, there was that one outrageous oilslick (I think it was with like, beige and slate) auction that got bidding warred up to nearly triple prices.
But there are doubles like cinnamon/shamrock that sit on the AH for months at 150g
So I *guess* people are trying to advertise dragons as matchy when they do that but

Nah I totally agree, some doubles can be underwhelming and plenty of XYZ's are incredible. It's part of why I think it's silly to pass fodder XYZ's as near-double when the colours are like. Cyan/Hunter or Eldrich/Orchid and the like. I'm just poking fun as an XYZ collector myself to be clear :^)
