Tbh I've been on dragcave for years and am active in its discord but have never been targeted by people trying to kill my eggs. In fact I prefer it over fr let me hoard thousands of dragons <3. Not denying targeting doesnt happen btw it happened to a friend of mine, but I don't think it's common. Theres also been api changes that allow hatch sites to verify your account so people cant add your eggs.
Neopets is the only one that's kept me coming back (probably because it was my first).
I actually usually get my virtual pet fix via video games instead of pet sites. Pokémon, Monster Hunter Stories, and Temtem have been ones I've enjoyed!

No for me too, and I wish it were harder. Like, one thing I really want is a dragon breed that is truly rare, as in genuinely difficult to get. Difficult enough that even the ugliest specimen, already bred with Unnamed offspring, would still go for a couple hundred gems on the AH.

if you're interested, you could still probably get access to your neopets account as long as you know what the original email was and explain that you don't have access to it anymore. i had to do that for my original account which was created with an email service that's now defunct.

gem prices are up so it's harder to get gems up-front to buy blueprints unless you're buying the gems directly.
i'd imagine the higher prices are to cover the cost of inflation/cost of trading treasure for gems if they accept treasure.

Honestly? As someone who didn't think the drop rate for mums needed adjusting and liked having something to work towards like genes like Blossom... This would be pretty cool. I'd support a quest like system that was generally a bit tricky/time consuming that might reward you with a "the rarest dragon" breed scroll or egg at the end of it. So long as it didn't involve Swipp in anyway (because he's where I think most of the issues people had with genes like blossom come from, his rng was deeply unfun after the effort put in to get the items.), Swipp could really use an overhaul I think.

I’ve been part of this site since 2013/14, and I want to start by saying: thank you. Thank you for building something that once meant so much to so many. The work you’ve done behind the scenes—creating features, releasing content, expanding lore—is not lost on me. I know it's not easy maintaining a site with such a passionate, ever-changing community.
But I also hope you’re aware—or at least open to hearing—that there is a quiet undercurrent of pain running through parts of your player base. Not just complaints about mechanics or bugs or release schedules, but something deeper: a growing sense that the community is no longer safe, welcoming, or encouraging for everyone. Especially not for those just finding their footing.
I understand that staff can’t control every forum post or every interaction between users. I know you can’t force kindness. But I do think you have the power to model, amplify, and support the kind of culture this site was once known for—especially in areas like:
Encouraging new creative voices instead of letting them be chased out by territorial gatekeeping
Supporting fresh UMA artists with clearer protections, community guidelines, or starter resources
Promoting inclusive spaces through your own threads, announcements, or even spotlight features that show Flight Rising still values generosity and warmth
Because right now? It feels like that culture is fading. And players like myself—those who remember what this site used to be—are returning only to feel like strangers in a place that once felt like home.
I also want to say something that I think many of us have been quietly feeling for a while:
It often feels like the community’s concerns—especially the emotional and social ones—are drowned out beneath constant content releases. New dragon breeds, genes, updates, and site mechanics roll out like clockwork (and I appreciate the work that goes into those things), but sometimes it feels like they’re being used as a shield. A distraction. A way to say, “Look over here!” while avoiding the very real and harmful dynamics playing out in the forums and creative spaces.
There are players in pain here. Creatives being pushed out. New voices being silenced. Gatekeeping becoming normalized. And the worst part? Many of us feel like our experiences don’t matter to the people running the site—as long as the next release or feature is ready to go live.
We want to be heard. We want to be seen. Not dismissed with a shiny new dragon gene or a marketplace shuffle. Please, acknowledge that community culture matters just as much as new content—because without a strong, supported community, none of that content will mean much in the long run.
The players are the heart of Flight Rising. And some of those hearts are breaking quietly behind the scenes.
I know moderation is a massive task. I’m not asking for perfection. I’m asking for awareness. For acknowledgment. For any step, however small, toward building back the kind of supportive atmosphere that helped this site flourish in the first place.
Flight Rising still has so much heart. It just needs space to breathe again.

It's why I was annoyed at the eye vial change. We finally get a feature that allows something to work for and has vial because unusual, and staff takes it away.

I believe from the overuse of em dashes and italicizing that their little speech was generated almost entirely from AI.
