I doubt they’ll get removed cuz I’ve seen some incorrect comments on database pages that have been up for months despite reporting like the auraboa breed change entry.

(totally not me ranting abt the state of the database).

there are literal dozens of spam comments under big ticket items like the KS familiars that just say "currently not on AH" over and over. i want staff to ban that type of comment so bad. one thing is the "last one sold for x" type of comment because it helps with tracking price history, but that "currently/not on AH" shit is completely useless.

I feel like if the database behaved like say, Wowhead, where you can downvote inaccurate/spam comments, and anything below a certain threshold is bumped to the bottom of the page and collapsed so it isn't seen because it's been deemed unhelpful by the community, it might make thing better.

(Yes, this would result in people downvoting comments to oblivion like on reddit, but knowing folks on FR, the threat of it might make them think twice about posting stupid shit.)

the assumption that literally any suggestion will get hate feels so baseless and unnecessary :c

AYRT I can guarantee that people would oppose it because a lot already don't like the star system so having another thing that you can like and then even dislike will definitely get some ire. This is not just "wow pvp regulars hate everything" it's genuinely how I think some of those people would react to this suggestion based on things I've seen in the past.

I don't know how it would affect comments in the database, but having been on reddit and seen how the dislike system can be weaponized, I could absolutely see that happening here, where even helpful comments are downvoted simply because of who posted them.

Other than that, I wouldn't care because I rarely even look at the database comments.
