I don't even go here that much these days! Had a dream someone was posing as me/hacked into my dreamwidth account (I don't have one) and made a couple of innocuous posts dated to the year 6000. Turned into a whole thing with this person trying to dox me and my SO and making paranormal stuff happen.
Of course, as I was posting about this on here trying to understand what was going on other users were chiming in, including plenty of ever so helpful "OP this isn't even that bad get over it LMAO, kind of screams attacking seeking tbh" posts. So at least anonrerising users are in character in my dreams.
This was a while ago but I had more of a nightmare than a dream about ARR. For a small bit of context, I recently blocked someone who, at the time, tried to get around the block by going through another of my friends. I had them blocked for offsite and personal reasons, and they had sent me threats prior to the FR block.
In the dream they posted here to play the victim while I wasn't able to be online, and all the anons believed them with zero hesitation. I proceeded to get harassed heavily by anons, both on ARR and FR. Then I received threatening DMs both from existing FR users and anons who specifically made throwaway accounts to harass me. It got to the point of death threats and when I asked for a mod to freeze/delete the thread, they were siding with the anons, saying "(public) pics or it didn't happen" when the DMs in question contained literal death threats.
Nightmare ended with the mods of FR banning my account and IP and being IP banned in here because I refused to provide proof directly to the thread. It was terrible and when I woke up I had to triple check that the ARR thread from the dream wasn't real. Kept my eyes pinned to ARR for a solid week as well because the user I had blocked was one I could see pulling something like that.
I'm fine now but man I hope if I ever dream about this website again it's in a far more lighthearted dream logic way.
Yeah I trust neither of you would do such a thing. I also trust that anons wouldn't blindly side with someone making accusations as the blocked user was in the dream.
Unfortunately, irl stress tends to treat me this way regardless on what the stress is from. I either lose sleep from it or I sleep and wind up with at least one nightmare. I've gotten better at handling these sorts of situations, and I did take a pretty big break from ARR after the dream. Figured if anything with that blocked user came up here that if someone didn't alert me on FR, one of my friends who checks in every now and again would let me know.
(ayrt) I totally had that exact thing towards the end happen back when I used to be an anxious teenager constantly checking up on drama circles here. I know I had at least a couple dreams that I was involved in some big scandal on FR, and after waking up anxiously double-checked that I hadn't been namedropped anywhere. In retrospect I'm glad I don't involve myself in drama anymore because I don't think that was good for me.
