yeah. no shade at all to the artist, they probably didn't have multiple copies of the gif scrolling around on their screen while designing it... but *nobody* on the dom team saw it and thought "y'know, maybe this isn't the best kind of image to plaster all over a thread"? especially with all the dialogue about accessibility and animations with the release of effects this week?
