I remember reading that hate manifesto when it was first posted. I had thoughts then, but this place intimidated the hell out of me. well, seeing all this pop up again made me just go: why not lol. this person makes me so genuinely uncomfortable. like their tone and behavior makes my skin literally CRAWL. they're so revolting and downright scummy that I'm surprised they weren't suspended/banned EARLIER.

who seriously gets on the world wide webble and thinks, "ah yes! today I will manipulate mansplain ba-guilt trippy strangers into funding my cesspool lair, where I craft the finest sentences garnished with my favorite buzzword: fascist!"

like buddy, pal, my binary code from another borough: strangers do not owe you even a single sniff snorf in your direction. strangers do not owe you their lunch money pennies. life fuckin sucks for everyone right now, you are on your own and you get not even a single drop of empathy from me. when your entire personality isn't, "I'm an aggressive butt smear! that'll be two bajillion doubloons for you getting the HONOR of reading my yummy word vomit <3," then maybe you can have a seat at the big kid table.

the fact that so many people have actually TRIED helping them in the past, and they've gotten met with such brick-walled responses and treated like utter garbage is proof that they have no intention of changing. they will not ever take the steps to fix their problems on their own. their only skill is begging people for money.

some people do not deserve access to the webbed site, and people like astralcrescent need to like, idk, gain the same knowledge as a preschooler experiencing anger release via screaming into a pillow. stop making your self-imposed misery a problem for strangers on the internet. they do all of this with asks, reblogs, and replies turned off too; they know they'll get called out for their fresh out the womb tantrums. no one is gonna donate to you if you're constantly screaming that "no one cares" and that strangers are "literally killing you" by not doing so; it's so entitled.

'FR battered me' is a crazy take, i mean i know emotional battery is real, but my immediate interpretation was "the website beat me up!!"

it does seem silly for staff to take down their thread in Quests & Challenges for asking people not to post in it-- i wish we had a way to make private threads or something for that exact purpose. that was circa 2018 so idk if that's still how things are. i see "private, do not post" stuff in the forum, so either staff are missing those cuz it's in the body of the posts instead of the title, or the rules have changed.

It wasn't an unreasonable decision by staff tbh, they probably took one look at AC/PE's track record and thought "ok, nipping this in the bud before someone goes against their wishes (which they're technically allowed to on a public forum) and a shitstorm ensues that we want no part of whatsoever". I would've done the same and just emailed them the backup after or something. Don't know what the current stance on private threads is either, though.

Oh boy, what a character. I did recheck their blog and they’re still going on about how FR staff (maybe users too? I can’t tell, it looks like they just hate Everyone) is “fascist scammers” again. Where is the scammer part coming from I wonder? Is it just because some things cost gems, maybe in response to the new effects? … but then again they were JUST complaining about them, I think they’re even out here saying they look like shit (I can’t tell what they’re saying looks like shit based on the images but I’m assuming its that) and calling the update lazy. So what do they want? 😵‍💫

Not relevant but am I going insane or is the text color slightly shifting colors. I can't tell if this is because I have a headache right now but it's driving me insane. What the fuck. Surely if it's fucking with me it must be fucking with them?

If you mean in the archive of their manifesto, I can't see it changing colors, but I could easily see how it might look like that.

It is a bright color against a black background and the background image often seems to change, so as you are scrolling down, the text seems to slightly change color due to your eyes adjusting to the background image as well.

The background image IS animated (water) so that might also not be helping, though I didn't notice it myself until after I stopped scrolling.

I can't see it changing colors (although I'm not a good litmus test) but I will say that I'm colorblind, and I can't easily read it without copy-pasting it to somewhere else. so it definitely isn't accessible

No I think this is relevant. AC has claimed that the default white of google forms gives them migraines. Just something to consider!

Yeah, I think it was a combination of the headache, the lighting of the room I was in, my zoom, surrounding colors and some other stuff I have. It wasn't even a migraine. I think it's common sense at this point a color scheme like that could trigger a lot of different conditions. Hell, I rarely draw characters with bright colors anymore because I realized it hurts my eyes.
And for the default white thing, there is literally a fix built into most devices. It's probably the blue light messing with them. Most devices have a built-in blue light filter or night light which tints the screen amber and would probably help them a lot. This isn't some secret - they probably would have found out about it if they took the time to look up solutions.

holy hell... i just finished reading through that manifesto and i am utterly baffled at the mental gymnastics they do to try and paint everyone else as abusers and themselves as the victim, 100% of the time.

like... did they write all of that purely to serve their own (blatantly obvious) victim and superiority complexes, or did they actually expect people to see their "evidence" (screenshots of polite, customer-servicey messages to them that were in no way hostile) and go "you know what, you're so right. you ARE being terrorized and verbally assaulted! please allow me to soothe your pain by making a monetary donation to you!"

honestly, they said it best themselves, in the very last paragraph of that thing:

"This is a prime example of why you shouldn’t follow tumblr drama because it’s often started by abusive people trying to cover their ass and redirect you to a nonissue to absolve themselves of guilt."

7 years later, they're on tumblr screeching about "fascist rising"... because they got a 24-hour suspension for breaking forum rules. i saw their rant in the Effects announcement thread before it got nuked, and it absolutely wasn't just "criticism of FR's ableism" or "bringing up their actual medical reactions", like they're trying to spin it - that's like spray-painting dog shit and calling it art.

i wish they'd read their own words and take them to heart. especially these ones:
