the concept of "free speech isn't free unless i can be a vitriolic bigot without consequence" is such brainrot. "so much for the tolerant left" is a very memeable soundbyte, but the people who say it in earnest... yikes. to repeat something i heard elsewhere, "tolerance" is a social contract. it requires peace from all sides. violent & hateful speech breaches the terms of this contract. i'm not going to waste my breath arguing with people whose sole goal is to get me to exhaust myself with PoLiTe DeBaTe when my own freedom & bodily autonomy is on the line - you just bash the nazis & move on. good night alt right
