It looks like a honest mistake, considering that the dom watch ping list went out before any flights posted anything.

NAYRT, but this behavior is so scummy, and sadly way more common than it should be. People should always be wary of "cold calls" for that exact reason - you don't want to overpay for what they're trying to sell you, or get underpaid for what they're trying to buy. That's why I always include recent, verifiable price history with my sales inquiry PMs. Something like, "hey there, I was searching for ___ and came across your dragon, (name) #___ - would you possibly be willing to sell? Here's a list of recent forum auctions (successfully sold or not) so you can get an idea of the current market. Here are the qualities that impact your dragon's pricing. Given that information, here is the price range I am prepared to offer. Here is the reason why I am interested in this dragon specifically. If you aren't interested in selling, feel free to ignore this message, and thank you for your time."

Some people have difficulty saying no, so writing your PM with a built-in "acceptance of rejection" is a great way to create more comfort in the interaction for the person you are approaching. Using this approach has lead to a sale around 80% of the time for me, and I have never actually been ignored thus far.
If your PM is rude or off-putting, that doesn't create the environment of cooperation necessary for a successful transaction. Politeness is key!

Those who take advantage of kindness or naivete might get a hold of what they think they want materially, but with such a skewed approach they will never be able to keep hold of true happiness.

It does feel very much like spite-exalting in those cases. Blocked them a while ago, but it was the same deal with Supremacy/Eviscerate/whatever oddly aggressive word-name they're using nowadays. Constantly new sales threads with the same G1s at slightly lowered but still exorbitant prices, always with the weird guilt-trippy tone, rejection of reasonable offers, and ~ looming threat of exaltation ~ mixed into the threads. It's a yucky, gatekeepy "exclusive club" approach to G1 collecting that ends up giving the whole G1 community a bad name, and discourages other players from participating.
"If you won't pay out the nose for this dragon, then NO ONE can have it! Bahahaha!"
Like, are you trying to engage in a hobby you enjoy, or are you more interested in creating your own virtual pet drama & mini-misery? Yikes.
... I'm just happy to be a Commenter on the drama rather than an active participant in the events, lmao.

Weekly food rations & an Eliminate ain't gonna cut it either. What's your yearly income, co-parent, cuz imma need a good percentage of that for my new 10-year-old son.

I, for one, appreciate the effort you put into your opinion, anon.

It's a shame that you'd get nastier replies on the on-site suggestions forum, because this thought-out approach is far & away better than the "keysmash gimme gimme" clamoring style you mention in your post, lol.

I would also love to see some copy-pasted "environmental" apparel for ancient dragons. I am easy to please.

"In myyyy day we put ALL our dragons in flowerfalls & iri/shim/gembond because that was ALL WE HAD, and we were HAPPY with that!" (NOT! ;P)

Not sure if the Sucrose named in your previous post ispart of the unmentionable squad, but isn't that the person in the running for an Imp scroll auction a while back who was funding their bids with cryptocurrency? I remember looking around for more information and they had responded to a profile comment (doing so on the profile of the person who asked the question) with something like "it's crypto, my husband said that if my trades do well then I can keep bidding."
Does anyone else remember that or have more info? I always wonder how Imp scroll buyers even get their hands on that much liquid currency at a time. Are they all Kickstarter backers & gem-based commission artists or what?
Mom I'm scared, I can't even COUNT to 2.5 million gems

Sucrose is not part of the unmentionables afaik, her interactions were fairly limited.
She supposedly was looking for an imp or scroll in the BMT site, but I don't frequent there so can neither confirm or deny that accusation.

The person who wanted to fund the imp scroll with crypto would be warocqueanum#4874 aka Monarque for any old FR players out there.

good time to remember to never attribute to maliciousness that which can be explained by incompetence or forgetfulness.

also, Dessy is an ex-lightning member who was very active in the flight and would have 0 interest in being untoward to lightning

someone can make a nonmalicious accident that is, nonetheless, inconsiderate or rude.

the thing is, I don't think it's inconsiderate or rude. Light is pushing, therefore, they are allowed to post on Dom Watch. Their representative might not have had time to wait for Lightning to post, and regardless, it's not like it's the first time a profit-pushing flight has posted before the conquesting flight. This is being blown up far beyond what's reasonable for something incredibly minor and silly to get upset over. They've accommodated Lightning as best they can and any continued discourse about this is petty and unnecessary. You'll all forget about this when the next big scandal happens in several days.

we're allowed to disagree on that. but it doesnt change the fact that there's multiple people in the dom watch thread and other places being confused about what's happening this week, and the fact that the dom watch organizer did not ping lights dom at all for their post. i'm certainly not saying that light dom beat up my progens and spit on them or anything like that, but its impacting people and to downplay that is rather inconsiderate especially for a festival week.

I mean, that's certainly fair, but overall there's no real issue. There was no possible way that dragons could've accidentally ended up with Light rather than Lightning, and Light would not have ever overtaken Lightning during the course of this week. The only impact is perhaps people feeling embarrassed their reading comprehension is not as good as they thought.

Light dom organizers shouldn't be relentlessly attacked for a simple misunderstanding. It's quite literally still Sunday - within less than a day, the issue was addressed and fixed to the best of their ability. Continued attacks are disingenuous and feel more like people looking for something to latch onto when there's no other current drama than actual grievances.

Sucrose was in that group and past screens proved interactions. She did not get her imp from S directly, it came from ykw, just after ykw got it from S. She may just not have done the ugly stuff to others and I don't recall her involvement in the bullying incident.

I also remember hearing about someone with her un stalking a rmt site few years ago, but she claimed it was impersonation from my memory. Hard to know what really happened.

Oh goody, so they're worse than I thought lol.
same for Blackiebelle and Alysandrine.
Or when people sell oldies for expensive cause they've had them for so long but just can't work with it/colors, it's sadly only collecting dust. When they just snagged it a week before for <10kt.
Bruh, if you're reselling at least own up to it and don't make up a sobstory

wasn't sucrose confirmed? they were locked, then unlocked, then locked again. the art on in their tumblr gallery matched the art on the rmt forum unless im thinking of someone else

allegedly monarque was going to buy the gems on site from the comments sooo where did he get the g1 imp? there's nothing in his post history about an auction for that one

also not to be that person but all the archives on him are 10 years old stale drama

im not really sure why this is being interpreted as an "attack" against light. all ive seen is people who are either confused by this, or people who have, imo, criticism on a mistake. criticism isnt inherently an attack, and its disappointing that criticizing a mistake is getting this much backlash. this place has had loads of dom discussion and no flight is free from that.

frankly, the edit that dessy included made it worse... titling your dom post as "thundercrack carnival conquest" honestly does make it sound like a post for a conquest push rather than a profit push, and could have easily been avoided by phrasing it like "click here for lightnings festival details" or something like that.

as you said, this is a minor thing. but its only been a day since it happened, and people will want to have timely discussion on it. saying that is dragging it out for petty purposes feels like an attempt to sweep it under the rug and shame even mild criticism. as you said, this will blow over in time. its only been one day.

Eviscerate wouldn't have to be passive aggressive about sales to get gems if they weren't snapping up accents and reselling them for 4 times their sale price.

The four horsemen of the overpricing: UMAs. G1s. Old dragons. And Y1 retired items.

Always got someone tryna snap em up to hoard & overvalue. Isn't there a player who habitually buys up the available Light Sprites in a bid to control market price? Or am I just Making Up A Guy (TM)

Re: After - ridiculous 7digit pricing?

(Anonymous) 2023-07-17 03:35 pm (UTC)(link)
light sprite's inflation is infernally stupid to me. going from 25kG -> 50kG in a year or two felt dramatic, but then hiking up to 100kG+? are people actually buying them at this point or are they just being unnecessarily inflated for use in cross-site/KS trades...? if youre saving up 150kG you might as well go for the actual prestige items and just get a scroll case or some other KS item

Did you end up getting a response about the dragons you were nesting, anon? It's just so perplexing to me that someone would choose to block you when you've got their dragons in your lair! Was the blocking a mistake after all? I'm curious about the resolution !
