God. Same. Way easier for someone who is new and hasn't spent as much time working on their progens. I've never exalted mine either and I kind of resent that it's required for an achievement.
so: i've never exalted either of my progens in all my years on the site, and while seeing the achieve for doing (and reverting) it gave me a momentary "oh no," i actually quickly came to my own solution:
it is a super easy achievement to get; it is not like there is prestige attached. i am not lacking in achievement currency for everything i could possibly want. and so: i am simply going to treat not getting the achievement, ever as my own "achievement." a little un-badge of pride, you could say.
but that's just what works for me! i assume it is an achievement in the first place because it is something so many people do, and a lot of stuff is themed around Classic Flight Rising Experiences. as others have said, it is pretty painless to get it if you want it for completionist reasons; this approach is just what works for me, so i'm sharing it in case other people want to adopt it as well.
