Might have been something they noticed because of the win. Plenty of people get away with breaking rules until they do something to get attention on them?

Lol maybe staff got touchy about someone openly complaining about the fact that the skin contests are honestly a bit scammy. Paying someone 20 dollars for a professional looking asset that the site owns all rights to and profits from... 👎 No wonder the amount of contests entries per fest has gone down.

I wonder about the possibility of staff being aware of some BM trading on BM's end, or maybe funneling, but not doing anything about it until now.

i really dont think staff is sensitive/stupid enough to outright and publicly ban someone for statements like this. if anything they would shadowban him from winning skin contests. people bitch and moan about skin contests onsite all the time and dont get banned for it unless if theres other clear ban-worthy activity, like that user who got banned for the mini callout in their post about contest winners

Ayrt

Yeah that's not what I was suggesting, I'm just imagining a possibility where they could have been aware of something like BMT or funneling and didn't bring the hammer down on him until today. (since he was profitable lol)

Weird that they deleted his whole skin thread shop. I'm really curious what went down.

ahh, i see what youre saying. apologies for misreading ur message!

i do agree w/ you though, the skin shop being deleted is odd. skins are comparably high-ticket items and i assume bring in gem purchases to the site. with brightmyth being a prolific and popular accent maker, i assume the violation was pretty undeniable for admins to consider a ban and potentially take some financial hit

i cannot possibly imagine "staff thinks brightmyth is greedy and cracks down on him" being the reaction to that comment? he is ultimately saying the payout SHOULDN'T be raised, ffs.

personally, i am inclined to think either the timing is a coincidence or, yes, it is due to intensified scrutiny from the imp scroll. (still weird to me if RMT/bm stuff is suspected though, tbh. like… really bigname artists are exactly the people I would expect to have those kind of gems on-hand.)

He's not advocating for bigger contest prize compensation, but he does openly describe it as measley? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ idk, there's been plenty of discourse around FR staff being a little exploitative when it comes to contest skins and tbh they never come out of it looking great.

But yeah more likely than not staff just found art theft/black market deals/multi/funneling recently and subsequently banned him.

Might be also some skin-centric thing, maybe they got exposed for art theft and such? Would not be the first and last time that some high-profile skin maker gets caught with that.
