It is practical and common internet security to not browse the internet on your home network and to instead be connected to a VPN. I did not start using a VPN "now", I always have been. As a result often my IP address changes throughout the day as I connect on different devices or change to another VPN server with less traffic.

when i got doxxed, i found out you can only do something about it if both parties live in a jurisdiction where it's illegal (which at the time was only california).
that said, despite everything, i don't think it's "stupid" for dakkokki to leave their business/professional website up when they're not in control of people linking it in the doc and other places. i would have a harder time finding clients and lose money if i nuked my own website. it doesn't look like dakkokki's website provides a huge source of income but still, i don't see why leaving it up is stupid on their part.

The idea that Dakk thinks they have any kind of image to maintain at this point is just... baffling. By now the revelation that they asked a buddy to delete some unflattering posts is like the 327th item on the list of why this situation is a dumpster fire.
i think the concern isn't that dakkokki has a professional website containing PII, but rather that the website is linked to multiple times on FR. lots of artists on FR use external websites/carrds/etc for hosting TOS and galleries, but these are tailored for online commissions and don't contain doxxable information. having PII be that accessible within a click of FR introduces risk/responsibility to both dakk and FR.
imo it's best if dakkokki (and online artists in general) created one space for anonymous online commissions and another one for professional IRL work.

It's the level of information in it that's the issue. That page being linked on fr actually violates site rules, considering real name and phone number.
You can and many professionals manage without that. In fact, I've never seen phone numbers posted publicly, because not wanting prank calls and other shit. It's more common to give an email, and email has better paper trail as well as not needing both parties available at the same time.
