Is it wrong to snipe underpriced items without caring about the name to add to your stockpile? Not talking sprites or irreplaceables. I think I caught 2 forgot a digit copies of the new NOTN genes today.
The auction house is an opt-in PVP enabled zone imo, plus as a sniper myself I can tell you if you're taking the time to memorize or click on the name of the seller who fucked up, someone else will often snipe first. And they'll likely have less qualms about their purchase than you. If you care that much check the forums for a sympathy post by the seller, there are some threads specifically about misprices as well. For something worth as little as the NOTN genes though, I really wouldn't bother.
Mind, I don't know that I'll be making much money from my sniped hoard. I figure a stash of the good NOTN genes in regular and ancient will at best possibly be worth a bit more than I paid later in the year, or at worst, my projects will become you get a paisley and fern, and you get a paisley and fern, and you get a paisley and fern.

If you do want to snipe quick and then check the seller's username at your leisure, buy, then backpage, then forward-page - at least in my browser doing it that way loads a cache with the listing you just bought. I always end up returning at least a couple eggs that way every NotN, either missed digits or accidentally listen for treasure. But yeah, the genes aren't really worth the trouble. (Although I am curious how much they'll inflate over the year. More than poor Smirch ever did probably.)
