You're letting your F2P "elitism" show. Without whales like this, games like FR couldn't exist. I don't know FR's bills, but I wouldn't be shocked if that covers a month+ of server operations.
There is no shame or tackiness in dropping money on a game you like. Only if you have a problem that makes you do it irresponsibly, which we have no way of knowing here, and it seems rude to assume all big spenders are such.
